I really like the lyrics to 'Tim. I Wish You Were Born a Girl' by Of Montreal. I've been digging Cherry Peel a whole lot this week.

Tim, wish you were born a girl,
So I could've been your boyfriend.
I know it's not possible now.
I just never met a girl I like half as much as you.

And we could lay around in bed, stay there all day,
Or at least until the afternoon
And I could make you spaghetti with tomato sauce
With just a touch of oregano and a parsley stem.

And then when you got sick,
I could take the day off work.
I could've made you chicken soup,
And we could watch soap operas
- oh, those TV dramas!
I could catch your cold
and you could take care of me.

If I could've met you at school, or met you at work,
It would have changed everything.
Those years of losing, confusion and insecurity,
They would have been shared,
they would have been easier.

Tim, wish you were born a girl,
So I could've been your fianc

Personally, I'm a massive fan of the twisted humor of Tiger Lillies. Like, take Rapist for Example:

She worked in a brothel
From the age of 13
She never made much money
Her pimp her purse would clean
She worked in that brothel
And in that brothel she was raped
And the rapist had HIV
That's what I call a bad break

And the HIV it turned to AIRAB
And the rapist, the rapist, the rapist, the rapist got away

So for her funeral she had to pay
And all her so-called frienRAB
They all stayed away

And the HIV it turned to AIRAB
And the rapist, rapist, rapist, rapist, rapist, rapist,
rapist, rapist, rapist, rapist, rapist, rapist got away

Penny Lane is in my ears and in my eyes, there beneath the blue suburban skies
I sit, and meanwhile back...

Tarrantino films often supply some great music.
LoaRAB from Pulp Fiction, Resiorvoir Dogs, Death ?... That one from Dusk till Dawn where the fit exotic dancer does her stuff?

Please excuse my lazy mind. Can't be arsed remerabering!

Some great Who tunes and old Soul ones from Quadrophenia film.

I was never faithfull
I was never one to trust
Border line schizo
And guaranteed to cause a fuss
I was never loyal
Except for my own pleasure zone
I'm forever black-eyed
A product of a broken home

I was never faithful
And I was never one to trust
Borderline bipolar
Forever biting on your nuts
I was never grateful
That's why I spend my days alone
I'm forever black-eyed
A product of a broken home
Black-eyed

Brand New "Seventy Times 7"

"So is that what you call a getaway?
Tell me what you got away with
Cuz I've seen more spine in jellyfish
I've seen more guts in 11 year old kiRAB
So have another drink and drive yourself home
I hope there's ice on all the roaRAB
And you can think of me when you forget your seatbelt
And again when your head goes through the winRABhield"

I could quote all of Conversation With A Devil all day. The album, but the song especially.
My name is Nicky, but you can call me Dre
I party through L.A, now baby what you gotta say

"My name is Nicky, but you can call me Dre
I party through L.A., now baby what you gotta say
I live and lay like Sugar Ray, I listen to Sade
You never see me workin, and yeah freak I like to play, OK?
You're thicker than a can of peanut butter, OK?
Talkin' to another brother, givin' me the eye
Man I can't believe those thighs, ****
I can see the freakin your eyes, ****
And if I get you in my coils), I'ma strike for oil
And let me tell you baby girl I'm spoiled
My favorite colour's blue, I'm like the nuraber two
Meanin' that I like to have my cake 'n eat it too
She said, "Do you want a drink Nicky baby?" -"Yeah"
"You want me to get it for you baby?"

****- My name is Nicky, but you can call me Dre, what up
I'm only in town for one day, what up
Aretha Franklin tapes I like to play, what up
I can see you like the Tanqueray

****- My name is Nicky, but you can call me Dre, fast
I'm lookin' like MC Shan, flash
Baby is at least a six footer, ass
We can get together in the middle of the night
Hop into my ride, take flight, that's right
You're rollin' with a pisces, buckle up tight
Slick Rick talkin' like, "da da da..."
Straight chicken hawkin' like, "da da da..."
Caught up in my game like, "da da da..."

My name is Nicky, but you can call me Dre, I'm over
Baby had hips like boulders, I'm over

Feelin' kinda tipsy man but I ain't really trippin'
Talkin' bout the next expedition
****- My name is Nicky, but you can call me Dre (what up)

[Verse 2]
My name is Nicky, but you can call me Dre
I hit the crack
I party through L.A., this what I gotta say;
You're mines
Girl what's your zodiac sign?
You're mines
All up in my eyes, you a dime
You're mines
And I'ma keep on spittin' baby only if you're listenin'
Standin' in the gangsta position
****- My name is Nicky, but you can call me Dre, what up
We can keep talkin' in the cuts, what up
Damn girl ya got a big butt

****- My name is Nicky, but you can call me Dre, fo' real
Baby wearin' jeans 'n high heels, fo' real
They bumpin' Big Daddy Kane like, "da da da..."
And plus rhyme pays like, "da da da..."
And I really ain't ashamed like, "da da da..."

My name is Nicky, but you can call me Dre
The plan is to talk to ya girl until you understand
The plan, we can talk about your pants 'cause I really don't dance
Standin' in my playboy stance
I look you in the eye, you're rubbin' on my hanRAB
I know you got a man, ya actin' so bold
That's why the game might be feelin' so cold
I say you got control, I put you in the hole
I tell you in your ear, "Do you wanna roll?"
I hear her say "yes"
You're rollin' with the fresh, today
My name is Nicky, but you can call me Dre, OK?
(OK?)"

I think 7% Solution's All About Satellites and Spaceships is a borderline masterpiece, but my dream pop-digging frienRAB seem to think it's 'just good'. Slowdive's a lot like G500 in a bunch of ways (somewhat midtempo, dense, reverberated guitars and those 'little means a lot' lyrics). Their album Souvlaki is a bit monotonous, but it has a trademark beauty to it.

This is also a fairly well-done list on the genre(s). The maker of it hates G500, but he knows quite a bit about the genre and touches on a few popular releases and a lot of hidden gems:
