Favourite live performances.

I caught that tour, but in Denver, CO. Cool shit.

I haven't been to very many festivals, but some of my favorite moments were seeing The Roots play their rendition of "Masters of War" at Bonnaroo 2007. And then of course Tool came on a couple of hours later (right when the acid started to take effect).
And there was The SounRAB of the Underground Festival in 2005. Something like 30 banRAB in one day, on one stage 11 A.M.-2 A.M. non stop. It was the first time I saw Opeth, back with Martin Lopez was still drumming for them, and then Clutch came on after them, and I saw Mikael Akerfeldt side stage with a beer, jamming to their set. Other highlights at that show were The Red Chord, SYL, GWAR and Larab of God (before I got tired of them).
Bonnaroo this year was rife with it's moments of grandeur as well. Tenacious D was ****ing awesome live. Isis and The Melvins back-to-back and then, later that night Clutch and GWAR back-to-back (and tripping again). One of the coolest things was after their set, GWAR came down into the middle of the festival, where there was this giant mushroom-shaped fountain. They knew everybody would be there after getting covered in GWAR juice. It was also nice, wandering away from their show, covered in red and green liquid, looking like zorabies, with all of these rich rave kiRAB wandering around, covered in glow sticks.

I've seen a group called baba zula a couple of times and they always put on a fantastic show, one of the more visually interesting and entertaining shows I've seen. The music is a mix of traditional turkish folk music, reggae, electronic and some other arabesque influences in there, so pretty eclectic to say the least. They always have live belly dancers on stage and a graphic artist who draws images on a computer screen which are projected live onto one wall. All together it's really cool to see.

Can a mod please do me a favour? And change the name of this thread to "Favourite live performances."

It covers all areas of live music then, not just festivals. Thanks.

Since it's favourite live performances...

When I saw this I was in a standing area, and when the rhythm guitars kicked in and the drumming amped up, everyone started jumping up and down and getting really into it. It was quite awesome.

They finished the set with One Step Closer, and the entire audience was yelling along to "shut up when I'm talking to you". So great

this is a serious post

Title changed from "Favourite festival moments" to "Favourite live performances."

I watched this on TV and this song was a highlight for me. Its beautiful. I wish id been there to see it as i have still never seen Blur.

Id love to see The Verve live too. Richard Ashcroft still has an absolutely great voice, in my opinion.

I loved it. Given i hadnt been a Maiden fan for long, a couple of years or so, it was a great experience to see that kind of a set from them. Also, Melvins, Clutch and Isis in the same day? Thats pretty cool. I havent seen Melvins or Isis, Clutch are a great live band though. I would actually watch Tenacious D too. I think they would be a lot of fun, especially at a festival.

YouTube - The Pixies This monkeys gone to heaven live @ The Troxy 3 June 2010

YouTube - Flaming Lips - Do you realize?. - Glastonbury 2010

Because I was there for both, and they were beyond special. Quality isn't great for either one but it's the best I could find.

YouTube - Interpol - Roland Live @ Les Eurockéennes De Belfort 2005

Because I'd give anything to have been there. Although I've seen them perform that song now anyway, this just blows my mind.

YouTube - Placebo - Narcoleptic (Olympia 2000) - [16/20].

As above, although I've not yet seen this song live and I probably never will. I'd be lying if I said this doesn't kill me on the inside.
