Favourite Foriegn Language Film

The Seven Samurai - one of my top 5 of all films
Life Is Beautiful
City of God

And 4 nobody has mentioned:

Jean de Florette
Manon des Source
Cyrano de Bergerac (Depardieu version)
Au Revior les Enfants

War and Peace - the Russian version made in the 60s. At least six hours long. A truly epic film.
Horseman on the Roof - it's just so romantic
House of the Flying Daggers - not the greatest film ever made but really entertaining and original.

There are lots of foreign films that have impressed me or that I have enjoyed immensely but two have stayed with at a deeper, more emotional level.

Tokyo Story (Tokyo Monogatari) - for a 50 year old film, from a country half the world away, still the affecting film I've ever seen on parents and children.

Central Station (Central do Brasil) - an astonishing take on a road movie.
