Favourite Disaster movie?

I loved Earthquake - not seen it for years though.

I watched The Day After Tomorrow recently as an in-flight movie (which is rarely the best way to see a movie) and was gripped by it. So I have to have it up there at the time being.

Can Independence Day be classed a disaster movie? It was a bit of a disaster for mankind - I liked that one also (same people who did The Day After Tomorrow i think come to think of it).

And I have to say, as much as it has become a bit of a tired cliche and if it came on the tv I doubt I'd watch it, I have to say Titanic, thinking back to the impact it had when first seeing it in the cinema - there surely wasn't a dry seat in the house.

That's exactly what I thought. Well, except the last bit.

In Deep Impact you actually care about the people, but Armageddon makes you vomit. The way America saves the world again though self-sacrifice.

Plus, Tea Leoni is tasty.

JustExhausted, EXACTLY! Thats why I hate Armageddon- plus all they do it SHOUT. ALL THE TIME.

Deep Impact is much better.... what did you mean about the last bit? Do you mean the re-building of the white house and the stupid speech? I hate that too. Also, if your capital got washed away you wouldnt re-create it exactly now would you?

I think Independence Day is more of a disaster of a movie to be honest :D

The best is certainly Towering Inferno.

And I don't know how Deep Impact can be considered better than Armageddon.
