Favourite Christmas Film

The Nightmare Before Christmas - we watch it on christmas eve with hot buttered crumpets after a walk to look at the xmas lights.

I also watch at least one or two daytime channel 5 christmas films. They are so bad, I don't know why I do it to myself!

I'm going for one that hasn't been mentioned yet - I love Jingle All The Way starring Arnie and Sinbad. It never, ever gets old. :D

I have never seen It's A Wonderful Life. I'm going to this year though, I'm determined.

Die Hard & Die Hard 2 (i save DH2 for Xmas Eve because it has more snow in it and feels more "Christmassy", lol)
Jingle All The Way
Home Alone 1 & 2
Scrooged

Has no one mentioned Home Alone yet?

Imogen, you will not regret watching It's a Wonderful Life. It is regarded as one of the best Christmas films ever made.

It's embarrassing, but Home Alone is a great xmas film :o I want to live in his house, it's a bloomin' mansion

Not quite a film, but the TV special Bernard and the Genie is another one that fills me with xmas cheer.

Of films that are shown at xmas, Some Like it Hot, The Sound of Music and any James Bond.

There we go 1 minute later and Home Alone is mentioned.:)

Wombat, thanks for reminding me of the TV specials. I too enjoyed Bernard and the Genie and i would also like to mention The Hogfather (TP).

Titanic is the ultimate christmas film for me, even though its not set at christmas BBC always seem to show it at that time of year and i love it sooo much.

I really like Love Actually as well. Its one of the few modern christmas films i actually like unlike the rest of the cr*p like The Holiday.

It will soon be that time when the TV guides / papers tell us what's on TV over Christmas. (Although I don't know why the papers bother, it's always 'film to be announced'".

Anyway, i still look forward to reading the Christmas TV guide. The only special i know of this Christmas is the Doctor Who special. Does anyone know of any others?

PS. Imogen, you seem to be getting in the Christmas spirit judging by your responses to this thread. Your enthusiasm is infectious.

I've just seen part of it in HD and it looks gorgeous. As soon as my food is done cooking I will go watch the rest with a good meal. The quality is a bit grainy but with a fantastic amount of detail. It's amazing the difference compared to DVD. Great movie!
