Favorite shows that didn't get nearly enough life

What shows are your favorites that didn't get enough life to them? Only got a season or two, and/or lasted less than a year?

-Dave the Barbarian: Come on, this was awesome. It was just about to hit 1 year when Disney canned it. Not cool.

-Megas XLR: This show did not deserve a 7-month run for new episodes and only two 13-episode seasons. Not at all.

-Invader ZIM: I guess Nick just thought it was too dark, but then don't cancel it for that, put it on another channel. It was a great show, IMO one of the greatest Nicktoons of all time, and the unmade episode plots sound like they would have been awesome.

-Catscratch: Another awesome show screwed over by Nickelodeon. Totally and completely unrealistic... That's what made it so good.

Well with Zim I heard that relations between Nick and the creator Jhonen Vasque got worse and worse durring the shows run, to the point where he started to hate his own creation. Perhaps the show should never have gone to Nick in thefirst place who knows.

Yeah Megas XLR ended way too soon.

TNBA. Seen as a separate show from B:TAS, it only got 24 episodes. Because of that we hardly saw anything of Nightwing or Tim Drake.

-Wayside: 2 seasons (but there some doubtful rumors here and there of an upcoming 3rd season): the last episodes of season 2 beginned to give more spotlight of the other characters like Jenny, Stephen, the 3 Erics, Principal Kidswatter.

-Kappa Mikey: who knows how things would had been going between Mikey and Mitsuki? That's another series who should had desserved a 3rd season.

And if we go back in time, let's include some 1980s cartoons
-the 1982 Hulk and Spider-man & his Amazing Friends: It's a bit sad then NBC throwed all their eggs in the same basket with the Smurfs. These 2 Marvel cartoons could had a solid 2nd and 3rd seasons.

My list will be pretty predictable, but...

1. "Gargoyles" two great seasons, and it felt more like a lead-in to something even more epic coming. We got a taste of that in the recent comic books... but thankfully, it's looking likely we'll be getting more comics (SLG was more than satisfied with the sales on the trades, and is in talks with Disney for a new deal)... and maybe we'll see more of that in the near future.

2. Megas XLR. Very fun, cancelled way too soon.

Those are my two picks. I have a third, but I don't want to jot it down yet until I know for sure.

Transformers Animated. Three seasons isn't bad but there was a lot more stories to tell and loose ends to tie up. It should have went for at least two more seasons and maybe a DTV.

1. Gargoyles

2. SWAT Kats: The Radical Squardron

3. Freakazoid

All 3 of these shows were pretty good but for some reason just didn't get support they needed.

Invader ZIM was a pretty good show also that didn't last long enough.

I agree with all these. I also think Slacker Cats should've lasted longer. I know a lot of people didn't like it, but it was generally getting better even after only 1 season. It definately should have lasted longer than 12 episodes.

Sheep in the Big City. The absurd humor and constant wordplay made it such a unique Cartoon Cartoon among its sister shows. I'm assuming it didn't do too well compared to the other series which is why it didn't last long.

Legion of Super Heroes as well. The show was produced at the tail end of KidsWB's life and was just starting to refine itself and the characters when WBA pulled the plug on all projects. A shame too since it was around the time they were heading in a new direction with Braniac 5.

Besides Invader Zim, Catscratch, Legion of Superheroes, and Megas XLR, I feel that these shows should have gotten more attention:

The Xs - I thought this show was very good. I like the character designs. It was a shame that this show didn't get enough airtime.

El Tigre - This show I really liked and I didn't understand why Nick didn't give this show enough airtime. I mean the only way I was able to see the rest of season 2 was through the Nick Video site...It was well animated in flash, it had neat character designs, and it was very humorous.

Atomic Betty - I really liked Atomic Betty. I didn't why CN didn't air the rest of the episodes.

Ah this is easy. The 2002 He-Man. That show had so much potential. The first season was good. During the second season, the show seemed to be getting even better. And there was rumors that the show's third season would've featured Hordak and She-Ra! The show only got 39 episodes, and it should've had a run that rivaled Justice League/JLU and the 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series.

I second Sheep in the Big City. This show was my favorite when it was airing. Two 13-episode seasons? The second of which was aired mostly at 9:30 p.m. on a Sunday night? (Don't know about other kids, but that was past my bedtime. Had to tape those episodes. They were good, though.) I loved its outrageously goofy cast: A protagonist that cannot speak outside of bleating, a good-natured but droning farmer, an overzealous general, a cranky narrator, and--my favorite--an "angury" scientist. Not mad, "angury"! Yeah, this show deserved much better than it got.

I'd agree with Megas as well, but it did get a good finale in "Rearview Mirror, Mirror". Didn't wrap up anything started by "Test Drive", but still a really good story. One of the best "paralell universe" episodes I've seen.

Freakazoid, lets face it we never got Freakazett(SP) who was hinted at in the beginning.

Oh yeah the rumors about the third He-man season sounded great, rumor has it Skellitor would actually take over Eternia for part of the season.

Gargoyles. With the original/historical/Shakespearean mythology set up by that show, there could've been a thousand more stories to tell. It's just one of those series that was big enough to last for years.
