Favorite Rival Espada: Ulquiorra or Grimmjow?

Ichigo has two main rivals in the Espada and since the anime is just about there I thought this be a nice topic for us who mainly watch the dub.

Espada #4
Takes no pleasure in life or death....emotion does not drive him. He simply is.

Espada #6
Total opposite of 4. Driven only by lust for corabat and his own emotion. Essentially Ichigo but psychotic.

1. Which do you like more and why?
2. This is being superficial. Which do you find more physically appealing?

1) Grimmjow...Because he pretty much just does whatever he wants to,and isn't blindly loyal to Aizen...

2)...Again,Grimmjow....his hairstyle is better, plus I like those markings around his eyes...

...I basically consider Ulquiorra a bland character with an interesting design...

My favorite Rival Espada is most definetly Ulquiorra,

He has an interesting emo goth design looking like Orochimaru & L from Death Note which fits him & can be a heartless, sadistic monster towarRAB his victims while being the most loyal minion for Aizen makes him so awesome. He's so a pretty powerful Espada being the 4th which his major battles with Ichigo/Grimmjow were so incredible which he knows how to block their powerful attacks, can have really huge Cero blasts, & actually kills the main character which got me impressed. His slap-bashing from Orihime was great when he pissed her off.I'll be sure to enjoy his huge final battle with Ichigo which is gonna be sweet.
Tony Oliver did a great job with his nasty, sadistic character in the dub.
I so love his powerful releases which makes him the best highest ranked Espada.I can't wait to see them in the anime soon.

Not a bit Bleach fan, but I vote Ulquiorra cause he isn't a moron.
Sure, he follows orders like a lapdog, but nonetheless he still has a more dynamic personality than Grimmjow, and only being nuraber 4, at least Ulquiorra can respect his place in life.

Some people may like Grimmjow more, cause apparently not following orders is considered cool, but he doesn't follow orders cause he's a selfish Kanye, and there is nothing commendable about that.
Moreover, he is a two-dimensional character. He hates only being nuraber 6, so he challenges Ichigo so he can beat a human up and feel good about himself. That is his only drive in the show. There is no depth to him, nothing to admire. He only wants to beat up a human and act like he is the best. But Grimmjow, even if you could beat up Ichigo, you're still only nuraber 6.

... also, Grimmjow has got this 1950's greaser thing going on, and it is kind of annoying.

As for looks...
Well, I'm a straight dude, so I'm not attracted to either of them. But I have eyes and can still tell a good looking guy from a bad one, and so I'd say Grimmjow is the more attractive of the two.

You're mixing up Grimmjow's personality with Nnoitra. Nnoitra hates being nuraber 5, which is why he fights anyone and everyone he can--to prove to himself and others he's the strongest. Grimmjow isn't like that; he'll challenge whomever the hell he wants because he knows he's the strongest. He doesn't give a rat's ass about who he's facing and his thoughts are much more primal. At the same time, he knows who's the head of the pride and will only follow the king, which is why he'll listen to Aizen but not his lackeys. Grimmjow is like a literal beast in human form.

I am not mixing up the two. They both share this similar quality, and quite frankly, your post proves this.

Tell me, what is the difference between the nuraber 5 guy who "fights anyone and everyone he can--to prove to himself and others he's the strongest" and the nuraber 6 guy who "will challenge whomever the hell he wants because he knows he's the strongest"?

According to your very worRAB, the only difference between these two is that Grimmjow "knows" he is the strongest.
But he isn't the strongest! He's only nuraber 6!
I sure don't see him challenging Ulquiorra. As I recall, he transported him to another dimension rather than fight him - or should I say, rather than lose to him.

And a beast in human form?
Someone with no brain. Someone who targets an enemy - only one enemy that he perceives as slightly weaker than him - so he can beat the poor sap up and feel good about himself. In other worRAB, a bully with low self-esteem.

Is this an admirable quality?
I think not.

Grimmjow's jpn voice (aside from Mayuri) is just one of those voices that it fits him so well, I can't see anybody else (besides the dub) really working for it.

I never got that vibe from Ulq so, my vote goes to Grim.

It's contextual. Grimmjow doesn't just go around challenging everyone stronger than him--he only fights people he has beef with, regardless of their rank. He went after Tosen though the latter was much more powerful than he. By saying that "he knows he's the strongest," I mean that he doesn't have a doubt in his mind that he could kick anyone's ass to kingdom come--regardless of whether or not it's true. His arrogance is unfaltering, which is kind of admirable. Someone said that he's like a psychotic Ichigo, and he's right.

Also, he definitely did fight against Ulquiorra, but did so in revenge. The reason Grimmjow had Orihime bring Ichigo back to life was so that he could kill Ichigo himself. He was angry at Ulquiorra for having killed Ichigo, and was willing to fight him after he was done with his own task.

Nnoitra, on the other hand, was filled with self-doubt. His only goal was to prove to others how strong he was. Nnoitra goes around picking fights with people stronger than him, evidenced by his grudges against Nel and Ulquiorra. Grimmjow could care less about what anyone thinks--he only focuses on his prey alone. The two are completely different.

Grimmjow doesn't go around fighting people weaker than him. He went after both Tosen and Ulquiorra--guys admittedly stronger. When he came to Karakura town the first time, he went after the person with the strongest spiritual pressure. The whole reason why Ichigo even registered on his radar was because of the scar given to him.

Ulquiorra or Grimmjow?

I'd say Grimmjow is probably more of my favorite as a rival to Ichigo. Yet Ulquiorra makes the perfect villain for the series due to the fact that..

Not only is he cruel and heartless, he has a habit of STABBING people where his hole originally is. Really after seeing the events in the manga, he could rank up to being the highest Espada if he felt like it due to his second release.

Basically, he's cruel and too the point of what he wants. Aizen's perfect little servant..

I vote Ulquiorra, hes not only my favorite Espada, hes my favorite character. sure, you can say he was bland or plain or 2 demensional, but that last scene with him (you know the one, in "the heart") solidifies him as a real 3d character.

Anyway, i liked since that first time he kicked Ichigo's but, he was just so awesome, character design helps too.
