Favorite Post-Movie SpongeBob episodes?

The general consensus around these parts is that SpongeBob lost his spark after the movie premiered, mainly due to the fact that a number of crew members departed and went off to work on their own projects. While this may be the reason many quit watching after the movie, I'm sure some of you are like me and kept watching because we were still enjoying it, even with a new crew on board. Since the show rarely receives credit after Season 3, I would like to hear from those of you who are still enjoying the show or have favorites from the post movie season. Here's my list:

Mrs. Puff, You're Fired: I just loved the training montage with a blindfolded SpongeBob. The instructor's militant teaching methods truly meshed with Sponge's determination and lead to one of the funniest driving test in the series.

That's No Lady: Patrick in tank top and skirt can never be unseen, but Squidward and Mr. Krabs' embarrassment made it totally worth it. Also, it was nice to see a timeshare joke in a funnier setting.

Born to be Wild: A great misunderstanding leads to SpongeBob and Patrick's humorous attempt to protect the city...from senior citizens. Squiward stole the show with his freak out while surrounded by the bikers.

Money Talks/SpongeBob vs. the Patty Gadget/Slimy Dancing: I think the shorter running time gave these episodes a good foundation, since the rapid fire jokes never felt rushed. The middle one had me in stitches because of the rhyming nature of its narrative.

The Krusty Sponge: A fitting satire of the merchandising frenzy SpongeBob went through with its meteoric popularity.

Sing a Song of Patrick: A lot of good gags here, and one of my favorite jokes ever with the band literally dying when performing Patrick's jingle.

The Inmates of Summer/To Save a Squirrel: R. Lee Ermey is gold, and his reactions to the duos enjoyment of prison methods was great. The second felt like a spiritual successor to Survival of the Idiots, albeit without the over the top facial expressions.

The Two Faces of Squidward: The scene near the end where Squidward realizes his face must be sacrificed for the good of his life and his slow-mo fall from grace was so well executed, I could never get tired of it.

You listed just about all my favorites, Marvin. But I gotta throw in "Normal" as well. Kenny really sells the "normal" voice and Squidward at the end is a true LOL moment.

"Krusty Towers" is a good one too.

I'm not good at listing episodes and telling how I feel about them, but I have watched SpongeBob since day 1 and still love it today. There has been many post-movie (post season 3) episodes that are really good. Lots of good visual gags and great jokes.

Marvin, you listed a lot of the episodes I liked. I would add "House Fancy" to my list too.

I'm just gonna list all the episodes from seasons 4-present that I've liked:

Krusty Towers
Skill Crane
Ghost Host
Mrs. Puff, You're Fired
Karate Island

Spy Buddies
Roller Cowards
Boat Smarts
SpongeBob vs. the Patty Gadget
Goo Goo Gas
Atlantis SquarePantis
Picture Day
The Two Faces of Squidward
SpongeHenge

The Splinter
Sun Bleached
The Krabby Kronicle
Porous Pockets
Krusty Krushers
The Card

Pets or Pests
Toy Store of Doom

Normal and House Fancy, I can't believe I forgot those two, which were also very good. They used a lot of grossups in those episodes, which may be why I forgot them.

''Krusty Towers'' was one of my favorites due to the jokes in it. I also quite enjoyed ''Friend or Foe?'', ''Born to be Wild'', ''The Thing'', and ''To Save A Squirrel''. Most of the post-movie episodes have been alright to me, but still not up to pre-movie quality. I'm guessing Hillenburg went back to marine biology?

Even though most of the new SB episodes are crap, there are few decent ones I must admit. Some of those include "Frenemies" (the one where Krabs and Plankton team up because of competition from a kelp drink stand), "Krabby Road" (if only for the reference to The Beatles' Abbey Road album), "Breath of Fresh Squidward", and finally"Plankton's Regular" (the only thing that annoys me about this one is that Mr. Krabs can't stand not having one more customer. Give it a rest, krabby.) I might be able to name more but I'm not completely sure... though there's that driving lesson one where SB sucks at driving and Squidward is much better.

Your favorite "modern" SB episodes?

What do you consider "modern"? Post-movie?

Guess I have to give it to "Fear of a Krabby Patty" since it's the only episode that feels like a pre-movie episode. I have to admit I kind of like "Roller Cowards" and "Living Like Larry" too.

I love "Normal", if only for Spongebob's new look and his casual voice.

To be honest, no post-movie episode can ever live up to some of the cartoons from seasons 2 and 3, but there are quite a few that I like either way.

Spy Buddies, New Digs and Sing a song of Patrick are probably the funniest and most consistent of the newer post-movie episodes.

Most of the gags click, and the timing is mostly very sharp.

Spy Buddies (for the crazy mind**** ending), Sing a Song of Patrick, and Sand Castles in the Sand are winners.

Oh, and Krusty Towers. Back before they overdid the whole "Mr. Krabs has a ridiculously impractical scheme to make money" plot.

That episode was on this morning. It was actually pretty good. One of my favorite lines was from Patrick "Can I have cheese on that? Oh, and can I have cheese on my Krabby Patty too?" :D

I haven't enjoyed most of the newer episodes that much, but there are still some that I like.

Mrs. Puff you're fired
Rule of Dumb
Sing a Song of Patrick
Suction Cup Symphony
Shuffleboarding
Gone

Wow, that's kinda tricky, considering Spongebob really lost it after the movie. The newer episodes just aren't as good as the old ones; I can't find one pre-movie Spongebob episode that I didn't like. But there are some post-movie episodes I like...

Fear of a Krabby Patty: This is the only episode that truly had a legit pre-movie Spongebob feel to it. Plankton's multiple attempts to tricking Spongebob out of the formula is great.

Blackjack: This episode was pretty entertaining. The fact alone that Spongebob had an tough older brother was pretty funny. All of the events leading to the end were pretty good as well.
Gone: Spongebob left behind. Nuff said.

Not Normal: Normal Spongebob is hysterical. Deadpan voice and round body FTW. The end with Squidward was great too. (Which leads me to my next episode...)

The Two Faces of Squidward: This episode was way too good, even for post-movie era. Squidward getting smashed in the face and becoming a pretty boy and the attention that he recieved was really funny. And near the end when he was pracically a model was just...priceless. :D And that slo-mo fall just adds to the pricelessness. :D:D

Driven to Tears: Patrick passing his drivers test instead of Spongebob was so random. The attention Patrick got from his awesome car was funny too.
And the end was alright.

Dear Vikings: Spongebob + Patrick + Vikings FTW. The vikings themselves had some pretty good moments too. ("OLAF")

There are some other post-movie episodes I liked, but I don't remember them right now. I guess Spongebob still does have some potential, but I think the show should've ended after the movie while it still had some dignity. But hey, that's just me. :p
