Wanted to start a list of favorite programs:
If anyone else wants to share theirs,
See if there are any gems I have not found yet:
Couple of my favorites:

1.Warfare Incorporated. (game definately worth paying for!)

2.Novii Remote Deluxe (after i got the bugs out)

3.Wine Guide 2005

4.Porta pets (portamonkey if you want it free!)

5.PalmaSutra (definately cool if you want to make your coworkers uncomfortable)

I'm sure theirs plenty more if anyone wants to share their experiences.

Hi,
Cool cool. I started an essentials the last time round. But i guess a favourite may not be an essential. So here goes..

1. Zlauncher; after upgrading from megalauncher and silverscreen, its by far the better launcher.

2.Always on; a freeware that over writes the palm in not turning it off. Ability to watch movies or videos without disturbances.

3.Crashpro; used to be a favourite, but now it doesn't seem to work for certain crashes. But stil a neat program.

4.Jacksprat/flash; excellent program. If you have got usable flash like the T3, I'd recommend using it to improve memory space. Not all programs can work in flash (pTunes for example) But stil an excellent program.

5.Agendus Pro9. Ability to add backgrounds, icons, weather forecasts and quote of the day. Plenty of bells and whistle for me who likes them.

6. Worldmate pro4; Ability to see a worldmap, currency conversion, weather forecasts, travel itinery. And plenty more. Also plenty of frills.

7. Docs2go; for the occasional report or project.

8.Nexus; a dictionary with over 340000 words.

9.ereader; Used for reading my books.

10. pTunes that replaces the lousy realone player.

11.Avantgo; read news on the go.

12.bibleR+ from olivetree.com; bible.

13. Too many games that are good. I've personally tried over 80 games for OS5 and have 30 in my palm. Here are a few that made the grade. RPG: Arvale. FPS: Daedalus 3D. Strategy Warfare. Bike or die...etc..

Tell me more. ;)

Hard to define an order, but based on quality and daily usage:

Main Apps/Utilities:
TealLaunch
TealScript
JackSprat/JackFlash
AcidImage
Bonsai
MobileDB4
Sheet2Go (Docs 2 Go)
TealMover
DateDifference
CardBackup
FindHack
Colorize
TealDoc w/TextSync
TealCalc

Oldies but Goodies
TomCatalog
SysTool
OffStroke
AlwaysOn

. . . and 7 of 'em are freeware!!

Paul
Can you fill me in which ones of yiur favorites are freeware?
Also what do you use AcidImage and Colorize for?

If I understand correctly, I think that MobileDB4 is s database software?

I was reading about CardBackup. I am having problems with BackupBuddy. I noticed that CardBackup is less expensive that BackupBuddy. Have you had any difficulties with CardBackup? Do you have an interface with your desktop that you could use if you would want to exclude some particular application (perhaps if you are having problems backing it up?) This is available with BackupBuddy.
I am currently running without a backup program and I am having some apprehensions about that. I need to find a viable solution in some way or another.
Thanks,
Carol

Some of the very useful apps I have, aside from those mentioned by the previous posts, are the following:

Bluetooth Toggle - switches the bluetooth on only when needed by opened programs (and turns it off after using), saves battery life.

DateWheel - for computing number of days (like a Tempus calendar)

Energy Dimmer - adjusts brightness and dims handheld at predetermined intervals. Various profiles programmable for different situations (slideshows, taking notes, playing games, etc.)

Metro - a freeware subway guide for most major cities.

PhoneMagic - easy addressbook look-up and dialing with fingertips (no stylus needed).

SnapCalc - pop-up calculator over any open programs for easy calculations (freeware, thanks to Paul).

I use BackupMan after trying several apps that failed to restore my handheld to what it was. Good reviews by other users (perfect restore, they say), but after more than 3 months use, I have not had the opportunity to try it to restore since my T3 has been performing flawlessly. Regular auto-backup feature seems to work well, and review of the saved files in my SD card shows exact copy of files in my handheld. Probably worth trying.
