The Sum of All Fears - The fact that it presents you with the idea that the seven day Iran/Iraq war
could have been ended with the Isralis dropping a nuclear bomb on the region is VERY fightening -- and thought provoking -- given the times we live in and how everything that's happened in that region and the rest of the world was formed by those events that really took place and what would might have been had this really occured (there is no proof we gave Israel a bomb to drop, but it IS possible knowing our goverment...).
Courage Under Fire - Great tank battle open that shows you how confusing war can get and even has a friendly fire incident... Something people don't really like to acknowledge happen in war.
Flash Dance - Very simple scrolling of the title in giant letters with an instrumental version of Irene Cara's "What a Feeling" played over it as it slowly fades into Baltimore and Alex riding to work on her bike in the early morning.
Harley Davidson & The Marlboro Man - Has Mickey rourke riding from Texas to California on a Harley as Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive" plays over the credits and a montage of road images.
Pearl Harbor - Great, subtle open with the bi-plane flying over Tennessee with calming music that represents America's innocence and that is embodied in Rafe and Danny playing war in an defucnt plane fuselage.
It's even more piognot since "Pearl Harbor" came out the summer before 9-11.
Bad Boys - Will Smith and Martin Lawrence driving to work and they get (almost) car jacked. Great way to introduce the characters and what they do for a living (cops).
St. Elmo's Fire - The brat pack in their graduation caps and gowns walking toward the camera with David Foster's very famous "St. Elmo's Fire Love Theme" playing
That's all I can think of right now...
