Ok OT, what are your favorite parts in metal songs? The syntax here is:
Artist - song title (album)
time- explanation of whats going on.
Dimmu Borgir - The Night Masquerade (Enthrone Darkness Triumphant)
3:39- The song goes back to the main riff and the satanic female vocals come in. Easily one of the most evil parts in any metal song.
In Flames - Dead God in Me (The Jester Race)
1:25- Epic breakdown, probably the most frequent guitar part to get stuck in my head. Very catchy, plus a nice solo comes in over it.
At the Gates - Suicide Nation (Slaughter of the Soul)
Beginning- Gun cock is just so perfect and sounRAB very nice, perfect start for a song about suicide.
At the Gates - Under a Serpent Sun (Slaughter of the Soul)
Whole Song- What can I say? This song is simply amazing, if you haven't heard it find it now! The whole album and this song especially is the apex of death metal imo.
Metallica - Enter Sandman (Metallica)
2:11- "Dreams of war, dreams of lies, dreams of dragon's fire, and of baked apple pie! Myeah!"
Metallica - Disposable Heroes (Master of Puppets)
0:32- The perfectly done military style chops come in and you cream your pants.
8:10- Song enRAB with a harmonized version of the riff they were repeating earlier.
Metallica - To Live is to Die (...And Justice for All)
4:57- Metal stops and beautiful figerpicked guitar part comes in, one of the most moving parts in metal history. The song as a whole isn't that great but this part is a perfect ode to Cliff Burton.
Slayer - At Dawn They Sleep (Hell Awaits)
4:30- Song begins to speed up with vocals screaming "KILL" with ever growing intensity, very powerful.
Slayer- Piece by Piece (Reign in Blood)
1:36- "You have no choice of life or death. My face you will not see. I'll rip your flesh til theres no breath, dismembered destiny"
1:56- "Theres only one way outta here: Piece by piece!"
Very dark poetic lyrics.
Slayer- Raining Blood (Reign in Blood)
0:32- Guitars and drums come crashing in through the rain bg with one of the most memorable guitar parts in metal history.
Dimmu Borgir - DoRABferd (Stormblast)
1:15- Flute in metal?!? Better believe it! quite epic.
Anyway those are just a few of my favorite parts from metal songs. Hope you all get a chance to hear them!
