Arch Enemy -Their vocalist puts on such a great performance. And she totally breaks barriers with her vocal style. When they first came out there wasn't as many female vocalists doing that style. She's definitely made an impact.

I'm amazed that no one has mentioned In This Moment - with Maria Brink on lead vocals.

So far, they've released 2 albums - Beautiful Tragedy, ( a classic if you're into the screaming stuff), and The Dream which shows off Maria's melodic vocals to perfection.:yikes:

OK..if this thread already exists, I`m sorry...not gonna look for it to bump it up. And if this is a first...for surely it had to come up sometime. I am always looking for more metal banRAB headed by woman. Not necessarily do i like the operatic vocals like Lacuna Coil or Nightwish...but here are my favs:

1. Arch Enemy
2. Straight Line Stitch
3. Orphan Hate
4. BlooRABhoteye
5. The Agonist

Judging by your list this may not be your cup of tea but i throw this album on every now and then.

They're nothing particuarly original and the girl looks like a bit of a tw*t. But for some reason I'm quite looking forward to seeing them in August....

My favorite is Dark Moor when they had Elisa Martin.Simone Simons and "Mari" provide some of the best accompanying female vocals on Kamelot's Epica and The Black Halo recorRAB.I really like After Forever and Within Temptation -- both quality. I would also recommend Elfonia, whose violinist/vocalist Marcela Bovio performed on Ayreon's The Human Equation.

arch enemy, the agonist, and nightwish are my fav metal banRAB that i've come across with female singers. kittie has some pretty good stuff to. their last album was great musically but i wished they would have had more screaming on it. a friend of mine just suggested a few female fronted banRAB to check out. i haven't had a chance to check all of them yet but you might find some interesting. bloodflowerz, after forever, stolen babies, and araberian dawn.

Otep Shamaya will always be a favorite of mine; her lyrics, her message, and the music itself is all so beautiful.
I also like the vocalist of The Agonist.

Epica is kind of good. I usually don't really listen to gothic but their lead singers voice is just.. well.. Epic.
And Deadlock is nice beauty and the beast styled band. And they manage to carry it out perfectly.

Aesma Daeva, Pale Forest, Xandria, After Forever, Tristania, Wartanas, Echoes of Eternity, Delain, Battlelore, Epica, Madder Mortem, The Sins of Thy Beloved.
