What is your favorite Code Geass manga? And also which is you least favorite of all that you have read?

There are so many, I haven't read all them, just the three main ones, the Lelouch Of The Rebellion reboot, Suzauku Of The Counter Attack, and Nightmare Of Nunnally.

I have to say, they all have their pros and cons, but Nightmare Of Nunnally is my favorite, mainly it is the most different from the anime, as Nunnally is the main character. Lelouch being the main character has been done in the anime, and Suzaku got so much focus in the anime, it is not that new to give him any focus.

1) Nightmare Of Nunnally
2) Lelouch Of The Rebellion
3) Suzaku Of The Counterattack

Reason I put Suzaku Of The Counterattack last is because I haven't read enough of it.

Counterattack is not bad for a story that only lasts for two volumes. It also, for my money, feels the most like a Geass story in the spirit of the original season. I tried a volume of Nightmare of Nunnally (review here) and while it had some nice characterization it fell flat to me because of the incredibly zany story premise. The core element of Nunnally's powers and how she gets them is its biggest flaw. Nemo's origins are downright confusing, and Nunnally's Knightmare seemed dreadfully overpowered to the point of not really belonging in the Geass universe. Alice was an interesting addition, I'll give it that much, even if she's just a Suzaku character to Nunnally's Lelouch.

The best Geass book isn't a manga, it's the stage 0 light novel that explains how Lelouch and Suzaku became frienRAB. Go figure.

Excuse me for getting off topic, but what do you think of this idea, would a manga about the adventures of a younger Lelouch, Suzaku, and Nunnally be a good idea? I liked the audio dramas that took place in that time period, and wonder if they could do a series that would expand on those adventures.

They could even extend it to what the rest of the rest of the royal familes and the future Ashford classmates are up to in that time period. I wondered what was going on with Schnizel, Clovis, Cornella, and Euphie, and what was going in their minRAB after their brother and sister were basicly thrown out on the streets.

I always think the sturabling block for prequels/sidestories is that they try and outshine the original work, either by doing their own thing too much or showing events which make me wonder 'If this happened, why didn't the main story occur soon? These events seem pretty major'. One of the few I'd honestly praise is Episode Zero, since it fills in genuine holes in the Gundam Wing narrative (why do Treize and Zechs discuss Gundams with such familiarity? What was Heero trying to do with that button when Relena found him? etc).

If the writers could craft a consistent Geass prequel that fits the established timeline whilst adding new layers and is enjoyable to read, I think it could work. But I imagine more likely than not we'd get something like '10 year old Lelouch had Geass for a week, but CC erased everyone's minRAB about it!'
