In honor of this "Halloween" time of year, what are some of your favorite horror films of the last two years? I just got a bunch in. I do this every year around this time, get a bunch of horror flicks I haven't seen yet. Any of these any good?

Carriers
Cold Prey
Deadgirl
Babysitter Wanted
The Collector
Surveillance
The Children
Doghouse
Martyrs
Dead Snow
Grace
Antichrist
Ink
Eden Lake
Frozen

I watched Martyrs yesterday, the pre credits sequence and the final 5 minutes are really good, and it's a shame that's there's 30 minutes in it from about the 45 minute mark on that are just pure torture porn, with zero artistic merit, and this section just bored me silly. If it had cut this down it would have been great. As it stanRAB, it's a big meh.

Dead Snow is very silly, it's an over the top gore movie, similar to Peter Jackson's Brain Dead, only nowhere near as good.

Out of that list they're the only two i've seen and I wouldn't call either Horrors. More psychlogical thrillers.

I can't remember a decent horror for a long time.

Cold Prey - Worth seeing, and the sequel
Deadgirl - Yet to see, but been told it's a good addition to the zombie genre
Babysitter Wanted - Crap
Surveillance - Nothing special, but not really horror.
The Children - Worth seeing
Doghouse - Silly crap, but fun crap
Martyrs - Excellent, ignore the 'torture porn' comments. It's not put in for the shock value at all.
Dead Snow - Silly zombie film, worth checking out
Antichrist - Excellent, and it is Horror, more psychological horror.
Eden Lake - Very good

There's no back story, no suspense, no context, no horror, no humour, no excitement, no characterisation, no thorny questions raised, no emotional pull, no story, no plot and nothing of interest whatsoever to normal humans.

A woman is chained beaten, repeatedly raped and tortured, and that's it. The really great thing is that you don't even have to feel bad about it - cos she's not really a person any more.

Last House On The Left
Eden Lake
Train
Dead Silence
The Ruins
All the Saw series

Woops!! Didnt know it was from last 2 years, just edited it :D

It's about 5 years old but you should check out Wolf Creek if you haven't seen it. My favourite horror film.

Antichrist is horrifying... but wouldn't say it was a horror film.

The Children was very good though, highly recommended.

That genre of horror are what got me into film, the golden age I would say! Good film Coma.

There's no creeping menace though, and it's a pretty much a by-the-numbers film.

I'm not claiming it's the scariest film, or things like that. I just enjoyed it the most, the first 40ish minutes before anything happens is just wonderful, so many films are dull during the set up, but I genuinely loved every minute of this one.
