Favorite Family Guy episodes

Concerning the 10th anniversary of FG, I've decided to make a thread of your most favorite episodes of FG.

My favorite episodes are:

Da Boom (Season 2, Episode 3; Overall 10th episode (December 26, 1999))

This was one of the best "What would happen after Y2K started" scenario in-and-out of cotnunity episodes which not only featured a great parody of Dallas featuring the two major characters Pam and Bobby Ewing re-protraying the last scene of the cliffhanger episode in the 1984-1985 sesson, and also Ouag-Land (Cleav-Mire) and Joe being melted to the ground and the big Rat (BRING IT ON!!), but it started the long going beef between Peter and Ernie The Giant Chicken, who appears every 40 or so episodes (although the first one was a flashback). "It all started with a expired coupon".

Family Guy Viewer Mail #1 (Season 3, Episode 21, February 14, 2002)

One of the best episodes of the series each comprising of 3 segments, all awesome in their own creative way featuring cameos like Kelly Ripa and Regis Philbin. My favorite segment of all (Lil' Griffins) featured the cute, yet same ol' Griffin kids back in the day as Lil' Peter and Lil' Quagmire tries to impress Lil' Lois, and successfully fails by being owned by Mort Goldman, and Thirty-Five years later, turing into billionares who has sex with buttered bagel. I wonder if they'll ever do another Viewer Mail themed episode soon.

Petergeist (Season 4, Episode 26, May 7, 2006)

What episode can go so awesome like a portal exit being in Meg's, um.."trunk" (not so awesome), the nerdy (and disturbingly buff) comedian Carrot Top, Peter turning into good ol' Hank Hill (Heh...propane), Joe's theater, all that and a bag of chips. Such a bizare episode, it was actually awesome to me.

What's yours?

Yay, a Family Guy thread that doesn't involve bashing!

Some of my favorite episodes:

E Peterbus Unum-A wonderfully wacky premise, and the good jokes were just flying left and right in this one. The "U Can't Touch Me" song was featured in this one. 'Nuff said.

Da Boom-Again, a delightfully nutty premise, and the jokes here were excellent. Left foot, right foot, left foot, right foot....

Road to Rhode Island-The first of theBrian/Stewie "Road" episodes, and the best one, IMO, with "Road to Europe" coming in a close second. The Stewie/Brain pairing was well-executed here.

Death Is A *****-The first appearance of Death, here voiced by an uncredited Norm McDonald (Adam Corolla voiced Death in all of his subsequent appearances). The gags here were again spot-on (personal favorite: ignoring the squid in the room), and Norm's clever jibes made this one for me.

Brian Wallows and Peter's Swallows - When I first saw this, I didn't really like it due to the rather down tone of the whole episode. But after watching it a few times, I quickly grew to enjoy it.

Death Lives - Death was a pretty interesting character, so it was good to see more of him. Also, I really liked how it explored Peter and Lois's past.

Road To Rhode Island - I loved how Stewie and Brian interacted with each other here. The song they did near the end was funny and actually kind of endearing. Also, the whole subplot about Peter was pretty funny.

I am a HUGE fan of Evil Stewie, so my favorite episodes are the ones that revolve around him.

Emission Impossible - This episode shows how great Family Guy can be when it thinks outside the box.

The Courtship of Stewie's Father - We all know that Stewie hates Lois, but he never seems to be able to do anything. That's until he teams up with Peter. Their bonding was simply hilarious.

Sibling Rivary - A perfect sequel to Emission Impossible. They need to do more Bertram episodes.

Stewie Kills Lois/Lois Kills Stewie - If you're an Evil Stewie fan then these are the ultimate episodes.

My favorite non-Stewie episodes: 15 Minutes of Shame and Let's Go to the Hop. Wow. Meg episodes!

Oh, it won't be long, that train is never late! :D

Here's my top 5 fave Family Guy episodes, not in order of which I like the most but these are definitely my top five most liked, if that makes any sense whatsoever.

1. Da Boom

The first episode of this show I ever saw back in 2005. After this I was hooked because this show was so different with it's cutaways and random jokes and references. Gotta say I was very intrigued by this show and shortly after I bought the first DVD set and the rest is history. Been a big fan every since.

2. PTV

This one was just great from start to finish. I have all the DVD sets and this is one that never gets old no matter how many times I watch it, and I think I've watched it a least 60 times now. Also contains one of the best Family Guy songs.

3. Patriot Games

Gotta say, that scene were Stewie beats up Brian is my ALL TIME FAVORITE Family Guy scene. I know you guys didn't like it but it was just so random and outrageous that I was literally crying laughing while watching it. Liked it so much, I bought a shirt with it on the front :D.

4. Stewie Kills Lois/Lois Kills Stewie

I'll go ahead and count this as two episodes because one can't really go without the other. This one was great for FG fans, finally Stewie kills Lois and it was hilarious throughout. I still stand by my opinion that they should've said this for the movie, but I'm glad they actually did it, even with the "screw you" ending.

5. Family Guy Viewer Mail #1

I liked this concept and I've been wanting them to do a part 2 ever since I became a fan back in 05. Great episode and a fun one too that has great replay value

In the beginning that was my thought as well then it occured to me that Bertram is still running around somewhere. Think about it. Bertram is Peter's son and Stewie/Chris/Meg's half-brother. When he finally reveals himself to the family that'll lead to several things. First, Peter will know that he has a 4th child and will probably want to be part of his life. Lois will, of course, be angry about all this and who knows what she'll do. And, Stewie already has history with Bertram. So, they'll be going at it the entire time.

Yeah, I agree with you, I think that could be a cool idea for the movie too, but I think the movie needs an EPIC storyline and the most epic one I could think of for Family Guy would be Stewie finally killing Lois.

Oh, and thanks for underlining my late night idiot typo, haha. Definitely meant to say saved, my bad.

Yes, but Stewie killing Lois was only part of it. He also took over the world and it was too easy for him. Now, imagine if what's preventing him from world domination was nemesis Bertram. Plus you can't just have 90 minutes of Stewie vs Bertram. That's where Peter comes in. He has a 4th child now! So, that where the emotional stuff comes in.

Yeah, actually I think this is a pretty good idea. Especially since it's pretty much a given the story is going to be about either Peter or Stewie, and Bertram would be a nice touch and fresh since we haven't seen him in awhile

Oh man, just had a terrible thought. What if they made the movie about the old man HERBERT!?!:eek::eek:

Bertram has only been in two episodes, so he's very fresh.

lol. I doubt it. Family Guy movie would be like Simpsons movies. All the characters will be featured but there won't be enough time to actually have a story be directly about them. It'll basically just be Peter, Stewie, Brian, Lois, Chris, and Meg as the focal point.

Even though I've seen every FG episode a ton of times by now and thus the comic impact is lessened, I can still turn on "The King is Dead" and literally LOL through the whole thing. I'd list all the hilarious moments but it would be paragraphs long.

There are also individual moments in various episodes that are timed so perfectly that even after multiple replays, I still laugh hard at them. Some examples:

-The Cleveland-Loretta Quagmire: One of the Mexicans gives CPR to Joe. Peter immediately responds with, "Aw, GAY!"

-Petarded: Peter: What naturally occurring element has the highest melting point of all metals?
Brian: Cadmium?
Peter: Sorry, tungsten. (quickly, to himself) Dumb ass. (out loud) My turn!

Peter's Got Woods: Peter and James playfully kicking each other after the scary story.

-Stewie Loves Lois: Lois's giggling and "What?!" after Peter first says he was raped. And another scene in the same episode: Dr. Hartman frenching the judge.

-The Tan Aquatic With Steve Zissou: "Kyle, I said shut up." "You're a poop nose." (short beat; Peter then starts punching him mercilessly)

In the same episode... "BRIAN?!" "Oh, uh, hi, Mr. Furley." "Nevermind, I'll come back later!"

Fifth is the episode Deep Throats. It's one of the Stewie/Brian team-up episodes, which is always a plus for me. Especially the scene in the restaurant where they're spying on Meg and Adam West. "Anything to wear a dress, huh?"

At fourth place is Family Guy Viewer Mail #1. My favorite of the three skits is actually the second, "Supergriffins", where the Griffins gain superpowers.

In third place is the episode Don't Make Me Over. The scene at the mall where Brian dares Stewie to streak ("Help! Help! I've escaped from Kevin Spacey's basement!") always cracks me up.

Coming in at second is Breaking Out is Hard to Do. "What the hell is wrong with you?" "I'm a dog, okay? I have a very hard time standing up in the car."

My all-time favorite FG episode is Road to Rhode Island. It was this episode that cemented Stewie and Brian as my favorite characters as well as my favorite "team up".

-Kim

They were Portuguese. And, yes, I love that scene as well. For a while it was a running gag between my friends and I. We'd say that to random things in that exact voice and tone. lol.

Fifteen Minutes of Shame: Meg forces the Griffins' to appear on television, which results in the family getting their own reality series, much to Meg's chagrin. My favorite line:

Peter (about Meg): She's like that dorky Baldwin brother who's not as talented or as good looking and never answers my letters, but he's still a Baldwin, dammit!

Family Guy Viewer Mail #1: A triple feature of one-shot Family Guy shorts, my favorite one being the 2nd segment, "Super Griffins", were the Griffin's gain super powers after getting exposed to toxic waste. I'm still hoping that on day there will be a Family Guy Viewer Mail #2.

Brian Goes back to College: My favorite scene is when Brian and Stewie have that Rocky-esque montage sequence to help Brian prepare for his final exam, and after it's over, Stewie says "You know, instead of all that training maybe we should have been studying."

That's the problem. Most FG episodes (especially post-revival) fare better as individual moments rathenthan whole episodes.

That said, these are Family Guy episodes that mostly work as a whole.

Da Boom (Randy Newman is the standout joke, but he's hilarious)
Road to Rhode Island (Stewie/Brian at their absolute best)
Let's Go to the Hop (Mostly for the Breakfast Club and Spiderman)
He's too Sexy For His Fat ("Well, Peter, I guess you learned a valuable lesson." "Nope.")
The King is Dead (Too many funny moments to list)
A Very Special Family Guy Freakin' Christmas (Even after regaining her Christmas spirit, Lois still gets shot with tranqulizers. That's the kind of tencity that caused me to fall in love with FG)
To Love and Die in Dixie (The bird tipping Peter's outhouse is one of the all-time funniest FG moments, to name one)
Viewer Mail #1 (Standout moment is Adam West rolling in the nuclear waste trying to get superpowers, only to get lymphoma)
I Take Thee, Quagmire (One of Quagmire's best )
Stewie Loves Lois (both plots are surprisingly strong without losing the funny)
Chick Cancer (Mostly for Peter's misbegotten attempt at a chick flick, and Joe's "My ass is sore! MY ass!")
Airport '07 (No more crotch shots!)
No Meals on Wheels (M.C. Escher as a rapper, and Peter not learning anything again = funny)
McStroke (Ricardo Montalban's delivery as the cow is stupendous)

Agreed, and I know the "Can't Touch Me" song by heart, and once on a car ride me and my friend sang the "Rhode Island Bound" song. XD (I sang Stewie's lines, she did Brian's.)

I like The Tan Aquatic With Steve Zissou for Stewie's plot because the line "Olive juice you too" always cracks me up for some reason.

I lol'd too. Also this wins for the line "Ugh, get a tan."

Also Stewie was adorable when he was affectionate towards Lois.

And PTV wins for the "The Freakin' FCC" song... which I also know by heart. XD
