Favorite Fake Theme Songs

Any of you guys have a favorite fake theme song within a show?

One of my favorites are "the Lovematic Grandpa" from the Simpsons, I love that subtle elderly joke in the line: "while shopping for some cans..." and the animations were funny too.

Another favorite is from South Park's "My Future Self and Me", it has me in stitches every time I watch it. I love Stan's disgruntled reaction to the vocalists: "Stop it!"

Two stand out.

One was "Everyone Knows It's Butters" from South Park. At first it was cute, but then got hilariously disturbing the darker the episode got.

Then there was "My Black Son" from Family Guy. Another of that show's random and histerical cutaways.

SogeKing from One Piece will always be my favorite. You can't fully appreciate it, unless you're exposed to a decent amount of 1970's anime theme songs.

I also love Shardy the dancing piece of Glass from Eek the Cat.

- Itchy and Scratchy's theme from "The Simpsons"

- "Mary Tyler Dot" from "Animaniacs".

- "Everyone Knows It's Butters" reminded me a bit of the old syndicated "Porky Pig Show" theme song to me (with 60s song "Everyone Knows It's Wendy" thrown in)---mainly for the bit with Butters saying "that's me!" at the end of the song (and Butters, like Porky, being their put-upon "straight men" of their respective casts)...

- That fake Scooby Doo/Josie and the Pussycats/Cattanooga Cats sequence in another "South Park" episode (where Randy's imagining saving the town from spontaneous combustion).

- Bloaty the Tick and Squirmy the Ringworm's theme music ripoff of "The Patty Duke Show"'s theme in "Rocko's Modern Life".

- Any of the themes from Tiny Toon Adventure's "K-ACME" and "Acme Cable TV" episodes might be good... including the one with Disney's "Wonderful World of Color" opening (Babs-as-Tinker Bell blowing up the castle with a grenade launcher).

- "The Jet-stones" from the 80s Mighty Mouse cartoon. ("here comes Proto, the one-celled amoeba!")

- "Blocky and Oxwinkle" from "Rugrats".

-B.

Russell Crowes theme song from South Park. It's so typical.

"Making movies, singing songs and fightin' round the world!"

If we're doing parodies as well, I want to add some of my favorite Parodies:

Animanirats- a beautifully accurate send up of Rugrats.

The Odie and Friends theme- basically the basic Garfield and Friends theme song. I forget the episode it was from though, but Garfield is depressed he's not getting any attention.

The Spacetons- in the Muppet Babies episode Muppet babies the next generation, Piggy imagines the future to be like the Jetsons. The theme song is supplied by the car, that malfunctions. it even turns into a brief case while Kermit is still in the car (something I'm surprised Family Guy didn't try yet). The car will not stop playing the theme song, annoying Piggy to no extent.

Histeria Huckleberry hound opening- The most subtile parody they've ever done. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised that people would have thought it was an original third theme song.

Immature Radioactive Samurai Slugs- From Tiny Toons. While the song sounds completely different from the actual TMNT theme song. Includes great lines like, "our arch Enemies want us Iodized, but they can't touch us cuz we're merchandised."

and not animated, but -
Rah Rah Ranger Monsters from a 1990's Sesame Street parody of Power Rangers.

A-freaking-men!

I love when Trey Parker writes themes like that, they're always so funny. :D

I also have to second 'My Black Son' because it really did remind me of a random high-concept comedy from the 80s. Plus it managed to get stranger as it went on.

Itchy & Scratchy: Easily the best spoof of a cartoon theme song. It's annoying, short, simple and catchy.

My Black Son, Family Guy: Right down to the harmonica it's a perfect spoof of those hokey '80s theme songs.

Stretch-Dude & Clobber Girl, from The Simpsons: Like the Less Than Hero theme already mentioned it comes off like a mix between the Batman theme and the Wonder Woman theme.

The Animaniacs "Cutie and the Beast theme"

Certain is what we are
Of what you like the least
Snails on your lawn
Songs that go on and on
Cutie and the Beast

The Slugs names were also quite funny: Picasso, Warhol, Rockwell, Grandma Moses.

A couple more from South Park...

"Wild Wacky Action Bike" and "Alabama Man"

I LOVE Trey Parker's exaggerated announcer voice, it always kills me:

"Hey kids, do you like Chimpokomon?"

And it's even better with offbeat guitar in the background:

Wild Wacky Action Bike, it's a bike that's hard to ride!!!

Wild wacky Action Bike is almost impossible to steer and it glows in the Dark!!!

Oh, the little kids shouting "I wanna be just like Alabama Man!" just cracks me up:

"I thought I told you to shut up"

LOL!!

From the Rocko episode "Ed Good, Rocko Bad": "Mervin the Happy Cat". Not so much for the theme song itself but the prisoners' reactions to it.

"No more, please!"
"I can't take it!"
"Shut it off, for the love of Lassie!"
"Somebody neuter me!"

Wow I can't believe no one has mentioned the Ned Flanders Theme from the Simpsons. I think it was an episode from season 4 or 5, I can't remember but it goes like this:

Hens love roosters
Geese Love Ganders
Everyone here loves Ned Flanders

Homer: Not Me

Everyone who counts loves Ned Flanders

I love that one.
