Actually I was pretty sure that Busyman meant basketball but precisely because his post was so unclear - due to the poor wording of his piece - I used it as an excuse to post an amusing (made up) tale about baseball being like the girl's game rounders.

Any defence of that point was rhetoric bluster. It was all done for effect.

That's why Busyman's posts were of little consequence.

To reiterate, what is of consequence is the ambiguity of the original passage by Busyman letting me post that quip about baseball/rounders and other people understanding, without me explaining, the contextual justification for me doing so.

Btw to answer your inquiry about my proficiency at Baseball - I have never played it although in school I was an excellent rounders player when we used to have Boys Vs Girls matches. Therefore I imagine that I excell at baseball too. Never asked. Thanks for sharing though...well maybe not since you made it up :dry:

Btw, if you feel you need reminding of the crux of the matter, incase you decide to opt for some accurate analysis instead of self indulgent rhetoric then click this link. I felt that was adequate to explain my standpoint but to be fair you have also done an excellent job.
