Favorite End-of-School/Summer-Begins Song: "Waiting for the Clock" or "After Today."

With the coming of Summer this month, I thought it appropriate to ask you animation fans to choose between two songs in animation that IMO best portray the end of school and the excitement for the 12-week holiday.

"Waiting for the Clock" comes from the made-for-video Tiny Toon Adventures: How I Spent My Summer Vacation (1992), as the juvenile cast await the stroke of 3 on the clock on their last day of school ("Come on stupid clock! Please, strike three!"). "After Today" comes from the theatrical movie A Goofy Movie (1995), relating every student's ecstatic expectation for the end of school- especially Max Goof, as he wishes to reveal his existence to his school crush Roxanne ("After Today she'll be mine!").

You can probably locate both songs on the internet.

Well, my personal favorite 'End-of-School/Beginning-of-Summer' song is "Are You Ready for the Summer?" from the movie Meatballs, but of these 2 choices, I'd have to go with "Waiting for the Clock". Believe it or not, I've never actually seen A Goofy Movie, so I haven't heard "After Today"; I may have to see if I can find that one on the net somewhere.

Though I like both, I actually started singing "Waiting for the Clock" out loud before summer break started at college, so I voted for that one.

I picked "After Today" because it has been a coot's age since I have seen How I Spent My Summer Vacation and I don't remember how "Waiting for the Clock" even goes.

I also prefer After Today over Waiting for the Clock. Part of that choice is because it's been ages since I've seen How I Spent My Summer Vacation and don't remember the song at all, but I do like how upbeat and optimistic After Today is for a fun filled summer vacation after dealing with one more day of school.

I [icked "After Today" because Ilove that movie and it's one of my favorite songs from the movie. Also I've never heard the other song.

This is a tough choice....I'll go with Waiting for the Clock. I like the lyrics better, but I'll give After Today the benefit of the doubt with its catchy beat (Honestly, I haven't heard that one since maybe 1995, but it's still in my head).

But yeah, when push comes to shove, Waiting for the Clock wins it by a hare (No pun intended).

Though it might have something to do with my WB bias over Disney.....Hmmmm
