Favorite Done-In-One Characters

I love it when cartoons I watch introduce new, interesting characters. This is great when the characters are here to stay; it's not so great when a character only appears in one episode and is never seen again. I thought it would be interesting to highlight great characters who were, sadly, done in just one episode.

A pair of characters that come to mind are Molly and Dwight from the Fairly OddParents episode "Well Wishing." Timmy is sent to a boot camp by Jorgen for Godchilds who wish too much. Timmy meets up with the two other campers: tough girl Molly and bespectacled nerd Dwight. After a rough start, the three eventually become friends and attempt to break out of boot camp. It was really refreshing to see Timmy interact with other Godchildren besides Remy Bucksaplenty, and I'd gladly take Molly and Dwight over Chester and AJ any day. In the end, though, the only time I ever saw these characters again were in reruns. :(

I actually originally heard the term from Blair Butler, host of Fresh Ink Online on g4tv.com. She used it to refer to one-shot comics, which are essentially one issue comic books.

My favorite is Mandark's little sister (Lala Vava or Olga) from Dexter's Lab. I know that she was suppose to be a joke, but I was really hoping she would be in some of the revival episodes.

Here's my favorite Done-In-One characters as much as I missed them,

The Trollogs/the Giantorrs/Plutar/Burn-Out/boar king/two Bolkins/The gargoyles/Ta-She/The Inflamer/Mongor/Nemex/Brodo/Tartara/The Demolisher/Char-Ninn/The Mad Bubbler/Two-Time/Frogman/Shadowmaster/Zaxx(Thundercats) - All of them were awesome one-shot characters especially the villains that were more cooler/interesting than the Mutants & Mumm-Ra.It was so cool that the Inflamer/Mad Bubbler were two of the best one-shot villains to not get a comeuppance at the end which was great.

Major Courage/Djinni/Fritter O' Way/Circe/The Space Microducks/Ripcord,Birdy,& Loopy/Bomber/Skittles the penguin/Jungle Duck/Feathers Galore/Gruta/The Amazon Queen/Count Roy/Cinnamon Teal/Robotica/The Beagle Babes/Sen-Sen(Ducktales) - They were all fantastic one-shot characters while both Circe, Loopy, Feathers, The Amazon Queen, & Cinnamon were my one-shot childhood crushes when I was young since they were pretty hot/interesting:anime:.

Chewcudda/Marcia Martian/Danforth & Margo Mallard/Witch Sandy/Lightning Rodriguez/the mosquito/Sappy Stanley/Blard Simpleton/The Roches/Foxy & Roxy/Julie Bruin/Vinnie the deer/The Coyote Kid(Tiny Toon Adventures) - All of them were great/hilarious Done-In-One characters which they have alot of wacky potential in their characters.

Anemia & Iodine/Little Freaks/Louie & Louie/Fuzzball(KaBlam!) - All of them were pretty awesome one-shot characters in that great show which Anemia was the coolest/hottest catgirl character ever and Louie & Louie were so hilarious, ahh, the memories.

The Star Rovers(Road Rovers) - The most awesome one-shot characters ever who're a Star Trek-themed dog crew along with the hot female dog captain who's the second hottest after Colleen.

The Evil Stan,Kyle,& Eric(bearded kids)/Ugly Bob/Mark & Rebecca the homeschool kids/Tom & Mary/The New York Kids/Scuzzlebutt/Jakov & Hope/Kelly(Kenny's girlfriend)/Larry the frozen man/Dr.Adams/The Romanian Quintuplets/the four Afganistan boys/Mark & Lisa/Sister Anne/the FBI Kids/Romper Stomper/Haman/Zitar/the evil towel/The Earth Day psychopaths/the rich black kids/Bill Cosby the cyborg/Josh/Tad/the Visitor Leader(talking taco)/the future people/The Aging Hippie Liberal/The Cripples/The Bloods/Gary & the Harris Family/Chief Runs With Promise & the Native Americans/Alex Glick/The Orange County Kids & their coach/Nancy(Jimmy's girlfriend)/Blanket/the Chinese Mafia/the Fort Collins Kids/the Denver Kids/Bat Dad/the Adams County coach & his Pee-Wee hockey team/Thomas/Patty Nelson/Bradley(Leopold or Butters' camp friend)/the Ugly Kids/Travis the louse/Bahir Hassam Abdul Hakeem/Bridon/Thad Jarvis/the Vampire Kids/Hollis & his son/Babyfarts & the two alien policemen/Sally/Mike the weird kid/Casey Miller/Billy Miller/Kip Drory/Profile Stan Marsh/Theresa and her family/the New Jersey jerkholes/Dr.Chinstrap/Mr.Yelmac/Billy/Evil Woodsey the Owl/The Geniuses,Leslie/Kelly/Funnybot/The Canadian prince and princess/The Mushroom Canadians/RUSH/The Native Canadians/Tooth Decay(South Park) - All of them were awesome/hilarious Done-In-One characters as much as I loved their episodes involving their characters which the Evil Eric Cartman was Eric's cool/nice doppelganger, Jakov & Hope were hilarious, the Romanian Quintuplets were so adorable, Zitar was the coolest alien villain ever, that evil towel was awesome, but sad that he died, Casey Miller was such a funny one-time character, & Profile Stan Marsh was a pretty awesome huge scary evil twin ever:D.

Keef/the alien babies/the Planet Jackers/Iggins(Clarence Wong)/the rat people/the Mysterious Mysteries anchor/the Blotch/Yoa/Meelina/Rob/Alexi/two dumb aliens(Zim's kidnappers)/Tak & MiMi(Invader ZIM) - That epic Nicktoon had their great cast of weird/wacky/interesting Done-In-One characters, but I so miss Keef, the Planet Jackers, & Tak/MiMi though, they were so cool with alot of potential.

The Commander of Darkness/the evil tyrannosaurus rex(Hero:108) - They were pretty cool one-shot villains which the Commander of Darkness was such a hilarious cowardly villain, hahahahahaha.

A-20/the Grunty Girl/Subaru's evil player killer doppelganger(.hack//SIGN) - All of them were great/interesting one-shot characters which A-20 was the cutest noseless girl character ever & Subaru's evil player killer doppelganger was a pretty hot one-shot villainess.

Second Squad weren't done-in-one characters. They appeared in a few episodes. Those characters weren't used to any great extent, but they weren't one-shots.

Another vote for Foxglove.

Also, Antonio from the Penguins of Madagascar episode "Otter Things Have Happened." Perfect match for Marlene. That and I'm a sucker for otters. Like I don't do enough PoM shipping...

"Sour" Coach Sauers on King Of The Hill.

This guy was a riot. He was insane and mean, yet clearly a lonely and positive thinking individual. But he also had all the best lines in the episode he was in, and he was also an excellent foil to Hank. Such a shame they never used him again, despite the many mentions of the gang's high school football days in the series.

Does Pete Puma count?

Only one short of his was made in the golden age, "Rabbit's Kin", but he has been used again in the past few years, but should I count one modern short and a handful of cameos? Either way, he was a fun one in his debut.

How about some one time Simpsons characters like the following(not including celebrities who have portrayed themselves):

Cecil- Side Show Bob's brother. I think he was in just one episode but a very memorable one.
Stampy- Bart's elephant was only seen once. Not to mention Laddy, the dog Bart bought with his credit card.
Grimey- Probably my favourite one time character. He went nuts and died at the end of the episode.
Mindy- Homer's co-worker with whom he tried not to get too emotionally attached to.
Hank.Scorpio- He was Homer's boss when the family moved to another town but for just one episode.

I liked the surfer dude from "What you Want" episode od Danny Phantom:anime:

Also, does Dark Danny count? Because he was in only one episode but they were planning on putting him in another episode until the executive meddling.

A third vote for Foxglove from Rescue Rangers. I think she would have made an excellent sixth Rescue Ranger and provided an interesting foil for Gadget, especially in the department of magic vs. science/mechanics.

Irina Kafka, from the "Ghostly Sonata" episode of Real Adventures of Jonny Quest. At the very least there was potential for a Jessie-Jonny-Irina love triangle there, or else give Jessie the encouragement to go after Hadji.

Danielle Moonstar, X-Men Evolution. Given how many episodes were left in the season - heck, the series - its understandable why she didn't show up again. But it still would have been nice if she'd stuck around, especially given the friendship she and Kitty Pryde shared.

I say one of my favorite Simpsons characters throughout the years would have to be Hank Scorpio. He was charismatic, smart, had a nice beard, ran a very successful business while being a super villain on James Bond's level. That and he actually appreciated Homer's company. He remains one of my favorite character's voiced by Al Brooks throughout the run of the Simpsons,

Gladstone Gander certainly wasn't a One-Shot character in the Disney Duck stories. Gladstone appeared in a good number of Carl Barks' comics as well as those by other artists and writers in many of the US and internationally produced Disney Comics. As for DuckTales appearances, Gladstone had a brief part in the Jeckle and Hyde DuckTales episode with Scrooge becoming "Uncle Moneybags", and he had a non-speaking part in "Sweet Duck of Youth" along with Scrooge's family and friends who threw him a surprise birthday party.
