'song of the south'

why?....it's animation interacting with live actors, the storytelling, the music....the song..."zip-a-dee doo-dah".... because of it's controversy....supposedly it sterotypes african americans, it also features hattie mcdaniel (the first african american woman to be nominated and win an oscar for best supporting actress in 1939 for her performance in 'gone with the wind')....there's still alot of debate as to whether this film will ever be rereleased as a dvd by the disney corporation....(profit motives just might win out)....years ago it was released on vhs tape....and it's still available by others, as a dvd, if you google it....it's one of the few disney titles we have in our library at home......

Lion King for me too, just a classic. Great storyline, great characters, even had the best songs.

Tough question for me. I would say that I always enjoyed the older Disney movies such as Sword in the Stone and Winnie the Pooh.

I haaave a ton of favorite disney movies!
Just to name a few:

-The Little Mermaid
-Aladdin
-Marry Poppins
-The Lion King
-High School Musical(That counts right??)
-Cinderella
-Pinnochio
-Snow White
-Sleeping Beauty
-Toy Story
-The Jungle Book

K basically ALL Disney movies are good!

The Lion King - I really don't see that changing either. That movie still makes me bawl...and it's just so sentimental to me. I originally saw it for my major JTT crush.

Aladddin - That's also a sentimental one for me, I saw it on ice (too) as a kid. I loved it so much! I had the hugest crush on Aladdin as well. :embarrassment:

Beauty and the Beast has been my favourite Disney film ever since I was a little girl. It would have been on of the first films I saw at the cinema. I never ever tire of watching it. I just find it so beautiful and romantic.

It's followed by Pocohantas. I find it so heartbreaking,

Then I love The Little Mermaid and The Lion King.

The Emperor's New Groove. The movie is just too funny and IMO quite different from many other Disney movies. And The Jungle Book, total classic and remembering me of my childhood.

Has always been and always will be Beauty and the Beast. No matter how many times I see it, this one single tear always starts running down my cheek when the Beast dies and Belle reveals her love for him.

The same! For the same reasons, plus, I was in love with Aladdin when i was little

Favorite Disney flicks:

The Little Mermaid
Pirates of the Caribbean (1-3)
and now
Bedtime Stories

This thread is so fitting because I am in my Disney nostalgia. I've been searching YouTube for classic Disney-music scenes lately :D

I really love The Lion King. The opening with Circle of Life IMO is one of the best openings in a film ever. Also with the opening of Beauty and the Beast where in it will hook you and set you up for a classic fairy tale. I have a soft spot for Aladdin because he is my crush haha! Little Mermaid' Kiss The Girl is so sweet...

edit to add: MULAN! Man, Disney films are really classic!

Has to be either A Goofy Movie, Cinderella, or The Emperor's New Groove

just can't decide. :)
