Favorite Cartoon Writers

Nope, Patric M. Verrone wrote that one.

Speaking of Keeler, I've always find him to be a VERY hit or miss of a writer. He's usually a great writer, but when he fails, he fails miserably. His work on The Simpsons include:

- A Star is Burns (Hated it)
- Two Bad Neighbors (Hilarious)
- El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Homer (Kinda dull)
- Brother From Another Series (Very funny)
- The Principal and the Pauper (Hated it)

His work on Futurama is incredibly better, with plenty of hits (The Series Has Landed, When Aliens Attack, The Honking, Godfellas, The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings), plus what I consider the best episode ever of the show (Time Keeps on Slippin'). Oddly, he also wrote the only Futurama episode I absolutely cannot stand (Put Your Head on my Shoulder).

Surprised nobody's mentioned George Meyer. Or Meyer's former SNL colleague Robert Smigel (TV Funhouse and dozens of legendary SNL sketches). What about Greg Daniels? Conan O'Brien? Jon Vitti? Early Swartzwelder? (Fun fact: Smigel and Swartzwelder were roommates when they wrote for SNL during the 1985-1986 season)

So basically: Anyone who wrote for SNL during the late 80's AND The Simpsons in the early 90's. Also, Jeff Martin from 80's Letterman. Another fun fact: Jeff has recently been named a producer for Craig Ferguson's show, produced by Letterman's Worldwide Pants.

Jay Kogen and Wally Wolodarsky were also excellent writers.

Not quite cartoons, but: Anyone who wrote for "The Larry Sanders Show" or "Arrested Development"

I've heard that Conan O'Brien used to write Simpsons episodes.

Also, Mo Rocca from the Daily Show used to write episodes for Pepper Ann.

I believe Charlie Adler(voice of Buster Bunny) wrote a couple of Tiny Toon episodes. One where Yosemite Sam tries to impress this lady school inspector, and another where Montana Max fires his butler and Buster and Babs help him get his job back.

And Dan Castellaneta wrote a couple of Simpsons episodes as well.
