Favorite Black animated characters?

Some of my favorites like Winston from Ghostbusters and John Stewart/Green Lantern have been mentioned, so for some fresh blood.

I'd say that Spyke from X-Men Evolution works and doesn't work. Early in the show, he isn't the most interesting or likable character. But he was more interesting when he mutated further, and would stick up for the Morlocks.

I will have to go with Huey as a favorite, even though I have many others. You just rarely saw black characters on animation with that much of a deadpan "what is wrong with these idiots" mindset, which does remind me of myself to an extent.

Is Dr Facilier from The Princess and the Frog black? Cause if he is, then he totally deserves a mention here. As usual in Disney, he was so much more interesting than the main characters.

I always liked Storm from X-Men the Animated Series. I loved her voice and the way she was drawn except during the final few episodes. I didn't like her later design that much. I think she had two voice actresses.

Solomon ''Doc'' Saturday from The Secret Saturdays would be my second favorite black character. He does have his funny moments and is very protective of his family.

I also am Black.

My list:

John Stewart (JL/JLU)
Black Panther (Marvel Knights Black Panther/Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes!)
Aqualad/Kaldur'rahm (Young Justice)
Static (Static Shock)
Vixen (JLU)
Bulletproof (C.O.P.S.)
Most of the cast of Boondocks (Uncle Ruckus just irks me)
Storm (X-Men Evolution/Wolverine and the X-Men; I found the Storm from the 90's animated series a little too over-the-top, especially when Allison Sealy-Smith was voicing her)

Elisa Maza from Gargoyles. Great cop and only person that can kick Demona's butt.

Robert Freeman from the Boondocks. He's the only old man that I've seen use a belt like Indiana Jones.

Foxxy Love from Drawn Together. She may have been stereotypical, but she is the voice of reason to the other insane roommates.

Fat Albert, as well as Rudy and Russell with their numerous antics (No class!)
Valerie Brown (Josie and the Pussycats)
Dee Dee Sykes (Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels)
Woody Daniels (from the Mr. T series)
Black Vulcan and Cyborg (SuperFriends/Super Powers Team)
Static (Static Shock)
Agent Jay (Men in Black)
Carl, Dr. Hibbert, Lou the cop (The Simpsons)
Numbuh 5 and older sister Cree (Codename: Kids Next Door, who are both voiced by Cree Summer)
Storm (X-Men: TAS)
Spyke (X-Men: Evolution)
Robbie Robertson (Spider-Man: TAS)

Among my favorites are the sassy and smokin' hot Foxxy Love from Drawn Together, the wise Susie Carmichael from Rugrats, and the cool-acting Numbah 5 from Codename: Kids Next Door. Coincidentally, they're all voiced by Cree Summer.:D

Okay here we go
in no particular order:

Dr. Facilier-from Disney's Princess and the Frog (Interesting and funny evil dude!)

John Stewart - from JL and JLU (gotta love how he grew and developed on the show!)

Penny Proud-from The Proud Family (She is such a nice/caring girl)

Aqualad/Kaldur'rahm-from YJ (keeps the team in balance, gets along with everybody! )

Suzie Carmichael- from Rugrats/Rugrats: All Grown Up (keeps peace between characters and protects the babies on the show!)

Maxine Gibson- from Batman Beyond (nobody mentioned her yet!)

Virgil Hawkins- from Static Shock ( cool to see African superhero with interesting powers have his own show ! )

Cyborg- from Teen Titans ( good guy who added to the fun mix that was TT!)

Numbah 5-from Kids Next Door (funny, supportive, and cute!)

Sunny Bridges-from Class of 3000 (whatever happened to that show !?) (Best Music teacher to have! I wish my music teacher was more like him when I was a kid. )

There are other black characters that I enjoyed very much, however I can't think of their names right now. Do I need to list the reasons why I think these are great characters? Already did

I'll second Wade, Susie Carmichael, Cleveland Brown, Chef, and Dr. Facilier. And I'll add Gerald Johanssen from Hey Arnold!, because he was always one of my favorite buddy characters. How has no one mentioned him yet?

I'll echo what many of you have said about black superheroes, including GL, Black Panther, Storm, Cyborg, and War Machine, and I'll throw in Steel and Mr. Terrific (JLU), Star Boy (LOSH), Firestorm (Batman: The Brave and the Bold), and Falcon (Super Hero Squad).

It's always good to see well rounded, cool, and likeable heroes. Although ones I don't care for are Spyke (not that he was bad, he was just my least favorite Evo character), Falcon on Avengers: United They Stand, and I can't say I'm a huge fan of Blade from Spider-Man: The Animated Series.

As for non-superheroes, again, some good ones have already been mentioned, but don't forget Hermes Conrad and Tiana herself.
