Favorite/Best all time Riffs

Nah it's not my faveourite, I do like the Clash. But I do like how simple such an iconic riff is though..

My mate in college played that when we were jamming once. I never bothered to learn it.

Black Sabbath - Paranoid is a good riff.

Stones - Satisfaction
Cream - CrossroaRAB
UFO - Rock Bottom
Metal Church - Metal Church
Celtic Frost - Circle of Tyrants
Darkthrone - A Blaze in the Northern Sky
Entorabed - Full of Hell
Carcass - No Love Lost
Down - Pillars of Eternity
Immortal - Tyrants
Nile - Annilation of the Wicked
Dying Fetus - Praise the Lord

Someone mentioned Smoke on the Water. There are lots of other great riRAB from Deep Purple's Machine Head as well .. Another I like is the riff from "Maybe I'm a Leo".

Kickass song and nice example of what I think of as a riff.

edit :

To JH, those songs and riRAB are all familiar except that Judas Priest song. I don't have that album, but that track sounRAB great :) Definetly gonna get that one.

I`ve could`ve filled the list with Pantera riRAB and have noticed on some of your other posts that you`re a big fan of Pantera. I was just listening yesterday to Superjoint Ritual`s "Use Once and Destroy" hadn`t heard it in quite a while and its one kick ass ferocious listen from start to finish.

I love...

Black Sabbath's Sabbra Cadabra
Metallica's Master Of Puppets as some iconic riRAB
Joe Satriani's Surfing With The Alien is very addicting

Metallica's One... especially the end jam is classic metal and for the late 1980's era, pretty fast.

"For Whom the Bell Tolls", "Orion" and "Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth)" - Metallica

Dammit, by blink-182. This is such a brilliant riff and it changed the face of modern guitar music. And The Black Keys songs are also full of awesome riff. I think all should listen to Black keys songs.
