I was just watching a recording of Jimmy Neutron, and found my favorite Valentines Day special.

BEST CHRISTMAS SPECIAL: Ed Edd n Eddy "Jingle Jingle Jangle"
BEST HALLOWEEN SPECIAL: Ed Edd n Eddy "Boo Haw Haw"

Charlie Brown Christmas is amazing!!! An all time classic. As is Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. Garfield's Christmas and Halloween specials are great and of course Mickys Christmas Carol!

The Peanuts Christmas Special and Foster's "A Lost Claus" for Christmas specials.

The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror specials for Halloween specials.

Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire. First Simpsons ep and Christmas special, but the best. Although I do like the uncut version of Marge Be Not Proud with Lisa whining about how Bart gets a present early (after Marge finds the picture with Bart in it).

Micky's Christmas Carol is tough to find on DVD, it is a part of some Disney classics series they released in volumes. It should be on amazon.com.

My favorites are....

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (Rankin Bass)...I love the songs, and the character designs are really cute...

Charlie Brown Christmas.......I love the part where Linus quotes the Bible to explain the true meaning of Christmas, and the "Charlie Brown tree"...

Mickey's Christmas Carol....Disney's take on the Charles Dickens classic....and by far,my favorite animated adaption of the tale...

I'm Jewish, so Christmas specials don't hold a very dear place in my heart.

Christmas: Son of Stimpy

CAN THE TALKING CAT FIND A TALKING FART IN TIME FOR THE HOLIDAYS?!

I am surprised no one mentioned the cartoon Grinch by Chuck Jones. Instantly one of my all-time favourites.

Interestingly enough, it was December 1966 when this special first hit the airwaves, and Walt Disney died that same month and year. It also marks one of the last performances by the late Boris Karloff, who passed away only 2-3 years later.

I really like "Olive, the Other Reindeer." Here's hoping it becomes a classic. The strange character designs are strange, yet charming, the songs are good, the plot is fun, and hey! Here's something I haven't seen in a while: the main charachter is a morally good person (or dog) who tries to stay on the straight and narrow.

I'm getting sentimental over THIS...

The stop motion Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer film

Many of the old Disney Christmas special films (made sometime around the 80s and earlier) are so heartwarming. Not like the soulless stuff much of Disney does now. Those short films had heart. My parents have all of them on VHS tapes. The nostalgia of growing up watching those Christmas specials with my loving parents every Christms when I was a child while opening presents on Christmas day was such a heartwarming time, whenever I manage to find and watch those tapes now, it brings me to complete tears.
So heartwarming. Disney was a pioneer of the moving Christmas special
(in my opinion)

And of course, The Nightmare Before Christmas

Aside from the Charlie Brown holiday specials (which are impossible to beat), I really like the movie Annabell's Wish. You know, the one about the cow that wants to be a reindeer? I also have a special place in my heart for The Care Bears Nutcracker Suite and the TV adaptation of How The Grinch Stole Christmas.
