Star Wars is the only Sci-Fi film I really like.

Of the ones already mentioned I would definitely agree with The Matrix (first movie), First Contact and 12 Monkeys, but my own personal favourite, even though it is very recent, is Serenity, which I think is undoubtedly the best SciFi film to have been made for a very very long time.
Oh Eileen ya beet me to it, now I've got to choose something else.
Star Wars New Hope/Empire/Jedi (the original trilogy, we'll have none of that Phantom Menace rubbish here, thank you very much) seen as one complete movie.
Alien+Aliens (even though these cross over into the horror genre also)
Back to the Future 1&2 (not 3 no no no no no)
Matrix (but not reloaded or revolutions, they were just silly)
Terminator (Arnie at his monosyllabic(?) best)
Go on then Back to the Future 3 (just to keep things neat)
