the best three are definitly:
The Notebook - how has no one mentioned this yet? So beautiful, so sad and so romantic!
Notting Hill - classic. love it
Moulin Rouge

Romeo & Juliet is amazing too, especially that bit at the end when she opens her eyes but hes not looking at her!

Also completey agree with you on that, the appeal of chick flicks is the same for me!
My faves include: (although there's probably loaRAB more!)
Dirty Dancing
Love Actually
The Wedding Planner

Lost In Translation
Sliding Doors

What are everyone's opinion on the last two? I know quite a few people that didn't like Lost in Translation, although no-one's ever actually told me why!

My housemate & I were having a mini debate about Sliding Doors the other day, they didn't like it because of the ending, but I think the ending it what makes it so good!

I def have to agree with 'Dirty dancing' and 'Thelma and louise', also 'The Notebook' what an amazing film!!! I cried so much.

Can't believe no-one has mentioned 'Breakfast at Tiffanys'!! Its my favourite film.

Yes, I can go along with that.

Just love it when they finally cut Christy Masters and Co down to size. :D

Plus, it has an amazing soundtrack - Bow Wow Wow, Cyndi Lauper and The Pretenders, to name but a few!

Also, Shallow Hal, Sliding Doors and View From The top.

You may have noticed that I tend to like Gwyneth Paltrow films.

I'm not apologising for that. :p

Hmm ...

Bridget Jones
Ever After
You've Got Mail
Sleepless in Seattle
Truth About Cats and Dogs
Titanic
Gone with the Wind
Moulin Rouge

I'm sure there are others, but my mind has gone blank :)

It's a positive ending. The point is she missed the train. She never found out her boyfriend was cheating; never left him, cut her hair, met John Hannah, fell in love with him, or ultimately died. It was a "what if" senario. Thus, when she meets him in the elevator after loosing the boyfrienRAB baby you know that this way after all the pain it will work out happily :)

Never Been Kissed
Sweet Home Alabama
Maid in Manhattan

All of the above are great if you want 90 minutes of pure, 'not-having-to-think-too-much' entertainment. Sweet Home Alabama has the added attraction of Josh Lucas.... :D

I completely agree with what you've said, but wouldn't consider any of them brilliant, neither would they feature in my faves list. But each to their own :)

Just saw The Girl Next Door. That's a good girlie film... But with enough sex in it for guys to enjoy too. ;)

Agree with most of the ones added but must mention again The Notebook - LOVE that film!!! :D
