Fatigue with no cause

Thanks, fireweed. I think I did only get a TSH test, but at the moment, I can't do anything as far as medical care unless my life is in danger due to lack of insurance and me not having a job. But I did personally suspect hypothyroidism in the past because I have almost all the symptoms (except the hair and bowel problems associated with hypo). The shortness of breath, inability to lose weight/gaining weight easily, cold intolerance, irritability, pale skin, weakness...just about all of them.

But whenever I happen to have insurance again, I will ask for a fill thyroid panel. Thyroid problems aren't a rampant family problem, but my mom's sister and a couple of her aunts are hyperthyroid, so maybe it does run a bit in the family.

"Full thyroid panel" doesn't mean the same thing to every doctor. There's one popular "panel" that's so outdated, it's all but useless. Ask specifically for these tests: TSH, free T4, free T3, TPO antibodies, and Tg antibodies. These are the best combination of tests to find hypothyroidism.

You can self-order them from an online lab for around $80. It might even be cheaper than an MD would charge you.
