So, Father's Day is this Sunday and I would like to finger/foot paint on a canvas with our daughter. What is the best way to go about doing this? I will be doing it on our front porch with a lot of newspaper but I was still curious if there are any tricks to make it easier when dealing with a little one who may want to try to eat the paint! Should I keep baby wipes handy to wipe paint off immediately to help with clean up? Any advice will be awesome thanks!

How old is your little one? If she is a baby, I would do it while she sleeps. I made my parents "snowmen" pictures (the baby's feet were the snowmen and her finger prints were the snow flakes) one year. I did the footprint while she slept so she would not be wiggling as much. I figured that out after three trys and some funky looking prints. Good luck!

If she is a toddler, I would have the baby wipes ready to wipe off as quick as possible to keep it out of her mouth. You can make finger paints that are ok if she did eat some. Here are some sites that explain how to make the finger paints: http://parenting.ivillage.com/tp/tpactivities/0,,88mf,00.html
