Why? If the distributors believe its going to flop then why release it?
Unless they're desperate for some money back or something.

If its as funny as the trailer I'm certainly going to avoid it especially when its co-star is Geri Halliwell (go back to modelling love). :rolleyes:

I think distributors should stop wasting money and really think about what there producing.
 
I dont think I have seen a worse trailer for a film for a long while. Even though I have got a UGC card and tend to go and see the majority of films out. I think I will be avoiding this film and I get the feeling that when it opens it will flop very badly!
I just hope I dont have to sit through the trailer to much before the film is released!
 
I'm very rarely offended or annoyed by anything film wise, but this is just scraping the bottom of the barrel. It's pathetic and I can't even begin to imagine who would find it even vaguely amusing.

Whoever came up with the idea for this film should be dragged out into the street and shot.
 
It really puzzled me when this film was announced. Have the makers never actually read the source material? It is and was always meant to be crude, vulgar, filthy, single-entredre laden one-joke stuff. Just because the Viz characters work as 5 minute animation (Billy the Fish, The Fat Slags, Sid the Sexist) doesn't mean they'll work as a feature. BTW does anyone know who's playing the two lovely ladies? Please tell me it's not Geri Halliwell and Naomi Cambell.
 
I very much doubt Chris Donald will even be able to watch this film without sinking into a dark depression.

May the careers of the people who conceived, produced and took part in this atrocity be forever blighted.
 
You can tell how cheap it is, and how much of a low budget it is for 2 reasons:
1. The incredible shortness of the advert and low amount of basic graphics ( i made a better trailer for my GCSE!
2. It stars geri halliwell!
 
Chris Donald writes about the movie at the end of his excellent Viz biography, "Rude KiRAB".

The film went down very badly at test screenings and Donald and the other Viz writers (Simon Donald, Simon Thorpe and Graham Dury) have all distanced themselves from the project.

It's apparently being made by TV comedy director Ed Bye (Red Dwarf, French and Saunders, Bottom) but I don't think he has any hope of rescuing it from a fate worse than death, especially if Geri Halliwell has anything to do with it.
 
Appartently according to something I read on the BBC website that Viz is to publish its final Fat Slags strip after 14 years in protest at the new movie about the two Geordie woman which has received dire reviews.
The final strip featuring the pair will be in next week's edition, which also marks 25 years of the adult comic.
Viz editor Graham Drury, who also draws the cartoon, said: "I'm sorry to say that the Fat Slags are no more.
"After seeing this crass and ill- conceived film I just don't feel like drawing them again".
It looks like it wasnt just the general public who hated this film!
 
Apparently (see link) the editor of Viz who is also the Fat Slags artist has said that the story will no longer appear in the mag after the next issue in protest at how awful it is. Seems like cutting off your nose to spite your face to me. Let's face it, the mag. sold the rights to these characters six years ago. What did they think the buyers were going to do with the rights - keep them for sh*ts and giggles? It must have occured to them a film or show of some sort would follow eventually. Either they thought it would be a masterpiece, in which case they'd have been better off keeping a %age to reap the profits, or they really didn't care what they did as long as the price is right. Either way it's too late to start protesting now. They should keep the strip (which they probably will anyway) and work the film into it if they want to slag it off (pun intended). Have Martin Scorses make a biopic of them and they go round shagging the film crew.
