fantasy book series NOT about vampires etc.?

i like twilight but i would like to read something different not about vampires or immortals for teens but i love fantasy novels everything i read seems to come back to immortal stuff???
 
Book stores are big places. Im sure the fantasy section is not limited to vampires and immortality. Explore!!!
 
His Dark Materials trilogy by Phillip Pullman.

The Golden Compass movie was based on the first book. Only it was made a lot more kiddie friendly. The books are fairly dark and intense.
 
I have been looking for the same thing. So many books now days are about Vampyres and Lycanthropes, and it gets old.
I recommend the Artemis Fowl series... they're absolutely AMAZING! I love them.
Also the Mortal Instruments series, however it does have Vampyres in it, but it's really nothing to do with them.
I don't know the name of this series but it's a trilogy, the first is called "Wicked Lovely" the second "Ink Exchange" and the third "Fragile Eternity". They're wonderful books about Faeries (obviously not the ones in pancake tutus and magic wands).
