Fantastic 4

Yeah I thought the special efforts were really good as well especially the human torch bits where he was flame on. If you want to bad special efforts you should watch the roger corman version of FF4!

Yeah but do they really care about the reviews as long as it makes the studios money then they are happy. Especially when you hear a quote like this from somebody from the studio saying this about FF4 opening weekend "When you have a weekend like this, you've got to question, what is the relevance of reviewers to viewers at large?"

i took my 8 year old son to see this yesterday and wasnt pleasantly surprised - we both really like it

big action, good performances (except for Von Doom, who was a panto villan)

8/10

If the US hates it, it's probably ok. That's pretty accurate yarRABtick for tv shows and it usually applies to movies as well.
They hated Blade Runner too. :)

Von Doom's background is not connected at all with the cosmic cloud in the comic. He's just hideously scarred after an explosion in a lab, hence the metal mask. Also, Sue Storm was not really associated with Von Doom like she was in the movie.

Really? Whilst I liked the Human Torch stuff, I thought the stretch effects were on a par with the CGI in the first Spidey film - which were a bit sub par in this day and age.

Still an ace film though.

mmm Jessica Alba.

I thought it was a pretty decent summer blockbuster, although what little plot it had was silly, and the bad guy was totally crap. Good special effects though, nice the Thing make-up and Jessica Alba too :)

Went to see it tonight, was really disappointed !!Storyline was rubbish and the big main fight scene was about 5 mins at the most?? Gutted!!

Only good thing was Chris Evans (Johnny Storm) yyuummmm :D

i'm talking about across all press, tabloiRAB, film mags, ny times etc - when something gets negative reviews EVERYWHERE trhere's a *slim* chance it is actually shit.

Yeah all the reviews of this film have been really bad but it seems like the Amercian public have ignored them and still gone to see this film anyway. I will go and see it when it si released in the UK just to see if it is as bad as everybody makes out!

Saw it at the weekend. Not as bad as everyone makes out, but not the best comic book movie. Thought Ben Grimm (The Thing) came out well though. Looked a bit hokey in the trailers, but worked well on the big screen. Plus you can't go wrong with Jessica Alba in a skin tight suit in my opinion. ;) :D

Anyone else like the Shield quote they slid in there? I thought it was quite good.

(Big fans of The Shield might pick up on the whole Ben/Vic thing too)
