Family Guy - "We Love You Conrad" - Talkback [5/3]

If I had any idea who the hell Lauren Conrad was this might have been funnier. Seriously....Am I the one out of the loop here? I never knew Lauren Conrad even existed until this episode.

The Hill? I guess I should assume this girl is an idiot on a stupid show? Is that why they tried to make her look smart? How can you make pop-culture references involving a girl on a show few people even know about and make it entertaining.
 
Yeah, I have a feeling there's very little overlap between the Family Guy fanbase and the The Hills fanbase. I know the show exists, but I've never even considered watching it.
 
I have a feeling that there's a clip of Conan delivering a Brian/Lauren Conrad joke out there, seeing as this episode has been delayed a year.

Still shocked to see Jimmy Fallon participate considering they bashed him pretty heavily a few years ago...
 
This whole record of Brian getting shafted with love is pissing me off. Seriously. Call me a romantic, but I'm just completely tired of Brian getting kicked down, beaten to a pulp and nuked when it comes to love and relationships. It just makes the episode painful more than funny.

"Oh oh! He's still developing his character and terms with women~" **** that up the butt. **** it hard. I'm sick and tired of it. Seth, stop it. Stop it now.
 
You're not alone. I also had no idea who the frell Lauren Conrad was before tonight. And I've never seen a nanosecond of The Hills, so (as with the Robot Chicken parody of said show) all of the references to it were completely lost on me.
 
Maybe Jimmy Fallon had a good sense of humor about it? I got the Family Guy DVD sets and I listen to the commentaries every once in a while and one of the things Seth often says is "It's good when people we make fun of want to guest star on the show or have a good sense of humor about themselves."
