Family Guy vs The Simpsonzzzzzzzzzz...

I think both shows are at the point where they really need to wrap things up (along with South Park). Have the three shows run specials 2-3 times a year, but they're all way too tired to still be running as a weekly series.
 
In 1999, yeah, I'd probably rather watch "Family Guy" than "The Simpsons". In 2009, however, even though neither show interests me anymore, I'd still take "The Simpsons" if I had to choose. The effort may be minimal and the results may be uneven at best, but at least they're trying.
 
During the 1990's, The Simpsons was better. During the 2000's, Family Guy was better. Unfortunately, in 2009 I feel like Family Guy is where The Simpsons was in 1999. That being the case, I see bad things in the future for Family Guy.
 
Some of the recent eps of The Simpsons have been pretty great, so I vote for Bart and co. As for Family Guy...it's not as clever as it seems to think it is, and the whole show is all about pushing the envelope, with results that are occasionally amusing, but mostly not. At times the dog and the baby have made me chuckle, but I have no use for the rest of the characters. So it's Simpsons for me. (And I loved the movie).
