JESUS, THESE PLOTHOLES!!! And as if Peter's ethnic diversity isn't enough. Does making Stewie Italian really SOLVE anything of it?

About time Stewie tells Bertram the whole thin- BERTRAMS DEAD!!!! :eek:
 
Two Back To The Future references, Seth just do a Back To The Future pardoy trilogy like you did for the Star Wars trilogy already.
 
This...this all hurts my head moreso than a normal episode does. Not only is Stewie the creator of the Universe, he's also Leonardo Da Vinci. Which means, in a term of saying things. Leonardo Da Vinci is literally a second coming of sorts....

They gotta bring back Bertram! He's only made 3 appearances on the show, and had so much potential!

Did anyone feel this episode was incredibly short? Something must have been deleted to make room for the Hangover sneak peek. We didn't even get to know DaVinci well enough, and I expected to see some of Stewie's alternate universes. Also, why didn't Brian help out during the climax? I swear he spends most of the action scenes just watching.

It was a fun episode, but you can tell that something is lacking, something that prevents it from being great, not just 'good'.

Hmm...Family Guy's Back to the Future reference always "own"/"win"...but I kind of think they're best in spurts. I find the show's hour-long, play-by-play Star Wars parody to be total overkill and fairly tedious, so I fear if they did that kind of thing with Back to the Future, it'd be much the same...

But then again, I'm way more of a Back to the Future fan than I am a Star Wars fan, so I'd probably be toally into it...

BTW, fantastic episode. Right up there with the best of the "Road to.."'s. Don't worry about the continuity issues, so much guys. Just revel in it. Every moment brought sheer pleasure.
 
I don't think Brian even knows how to defend himself. Outside of fighting Stewie during the family brawl in 'Lethal Weapons', he's always gotten curbstomped in virtually every fight scene we've seen him in.
 
Well how would you cast it?

I think Brian and Stewie have to be Marty and Doc, now which is which that is the question. I think Stewie is more of a Doc because of his intelligence, but he is an actual blood member of the Griffens.

I assume Peter and Lois would be George and Lorane. Chris and Meg are perfect as Marty's older siblings.

Now who would be Biff, I think I go with Adam West, he already played the bully in the Stand By Me parody.
 
I don't know, this episode felt really weird in my opinion. I mean it was good but, the plot was confusing as hell and flew right over head for the most part, and did anybody else felt like this should have been an hour long episode? It had a grand epic feel to it, but things felt so rushed,(they could have explored Italy a little more) and I couldn't help but think that the pacing would felt better if they were given another half hour. Plus as soon as we see Bertram he's killed off just like that? They could done so much more with him, wasted potential to an archvillian.:sad:
 
I dunno, I kind of feel that episodes like this one and many in the "Road to" series are so strong because they pull off "epic" in the course of a mere 22 minutes. Brevity is the soul of wit, as they say... On the other hand, I kind of felt that "Road to the North Pole" suffered from being double-length.
 
Well, think of it this way. If Family Guy was an 11-minute show. Then that was your double-length episode. Yes, that doesn't make sense at all. Why did I say that....wait no, I'm being serious. WHY DID I SAY THAT?! That contributes nothing to the situation at hand at all! :sad:
 
Hmm...fun to consider!

Besides your suggestions, nothing jumps out at me... It's not so much that Peter and Lois would would make a good George and Lorraine as it is that Lois jumps out as being a surefire Lorraine. Mainly, teenage/1950's Lorraine. Since Peter is Lois' husband, him being George then seems a given. Although, adult Stewie would make a pretty good George, but if Lois were to be Lorraine, that'd be kind of weird...

As Stewie has the whole "mad inventor" thing going for him, he screams "Doc"...but, like you said, he's Peter and Lois' son, so it'd make sense for him to be Marty. And I think Stewie could pull off Marty's scrapiness. I can almost see Chris as Marty, though he already had his turn at being the lead in the Star Wars parodies.

If we rule out Stewie from being Doc, I really can't come up with anything else. Brian at least likes to pose as being an intellectual, and feigns that he's serious about science insofar as that he thinks it validates his atheism, but he just doesn't quite fit as Doc? Adam West? He may be a screwball...but he doesn't really fit. Mort? He may be bug-eyed and neurotic...but he doesn't really fit (too much of a wimp, while Doc has nerve). And West and Mort are both too distant "from the main cast". I'm really coming up with nothing here. (Yes, I realize that every FG regular would be an "actor" in this scenario, but, like with the Star Wars parodies, I'd expect that they'd be a match in some way.)

I'm seeing Joe as Biff, and Quagmire as one of his lackeys. But do you think it would be okay to cast Joe as the main villain?

I'm thinking Herbert as elderly Biff...but having different "actors" play the same BttF characters at different ages seems like it would feel "off".

Hmm...could Herbert be Biff? ...lol, Herbert as Doc and Chris as Marty! ...woah, that might actually really work!
 
I say this, if Brian was Marty, I think Quagmire would fit perfectly as Biff, not only has he lusted after Lois, but him and Brian animosity in the series would make the transition very smoothly. Also if Brian was Marty, I guess Jillian would be Jennifer, actully I think reguardless of who is Marty, Jillian would be Jennifer. There is no other character that can fill that secondary female lead character. I just can't see Connie being Jennifer, Connie is only good at being the snobby girl you can't get.

Joe as Biff, Joe is such a likeable character, it is hard to see him as villain, but his physiche and voice would make an ideal bully, and I am sure there will find a way to make the bully be handicap funny.

I think the sea captain or Herbert would be the principal. Though I would like to find another role for Carter besides the obvious Lorane's dad role. Lorane's dad plays a very small role in the trilogy.

Besides Dave McFly, I think it is okay to cast Chris in background characters and just explain away why he is another character. Meg can also play Lorane's ugly friend, with the joke that Lorane says behind her back "if I ever have a daughter that looks like her, I will kill myself."
 
This is one of the best episodes we've seen in a while. I've personally never cared for Brian, but whenever he's with Stewie their personalities just fit so perfectly. A Back to the Future parody would be cool, but I feel they wouldn't really be able to make it humorous like the way they parody Star Wars.
 
As fun as it would be to cast the Family Guy cast in a Back to the Future parody, the ENTIRE last act of "Meet the Quagmires" IS a Back to the Future parody. Seems redundant.
 
Of course, there's another problem: if you remember the pre-cancellation episodes, Stewie, just like Bertram, was originally a being who piloted one of Peter's sperms before winding up stuck in Lois's womb. Hence, even if Bertram killed an ancestor on Lois's side, Stewie would still exist.
