Family Guy Talkback: "Back to the Woods"

Maybe they were firing on all cylinders through the first 21 minutes or so that when it came time for the last 30 seconds, they ran out of juice.

Wow, I didn't think they'd do it, but they used the exact same ending from "Peter's Got Woods". Not sure how I feel about it yet- you almost get the feeling that there'll be a THIRD James Woods episode now, since he apparently got out without any trouble the first time. Unless they nailed the crate harder this time. ;)

While I wouldn't put the episode above "Peter's Got Woods", it had a good amount of jokes that worked. The only ones off the top of my head that I really didn't like was James teaching Meg bulimia, and his conversation with Chris.

LOL Stewie reaction the video remind me of my own reaction to it.
So why are they adding the deleted stuff to the Fox rerun? I thought that what Adult Swim was for.

Probably because this was one of the episodes that was originally shown without Seth's authority (due to him supporting the writers' strike), with the re-airing featuring some jokes that he added to this version in order to make it "complete".

That would explain why this particular airing would be the first time we've seen some of these jokes, but wow. Seth really likes long, drawn-out gags, apparently. The episode was much tighter-paced without the Stewie reaction cutaway, which went on for almost a minute, and a practically recited word-for-word Michael Richards apology scene tacked onto the end of the David Letterman bit.

I'm surprised the bit with Peter talking about making a comedy about 9/11 got aired at all.

So I'm not crazy. There were scenes I don't remember in the first airing.

All in all, this is one of my favorite Family Guy episodes EVER. Just the very premise of an actor stealing some schmoe's identity is hilarious. My favorite line came from Brian, I don't remember it exactly.

"My leash was longer, but after running around it's now shorter. What kind of black magic is this?!"

For some reason, I just KNEW that FG would do some sort of 2G1C joke sooner or later.

...the only downside is that its got people curious into looking at it.

Outside of G. I. Jose, the Foghorn Leghorn joke, and the return of the Vaudeville guys, this episode was very weak IMO.

Hopefully, the humor will be back now that the strike is over.
