Family Guy - "Stew-Roids" - Talkback [4/26]

"I HAVE SPOKEN!"

Curse you, Johnson & Johnson!

Good episode so far.

That Fred Flintstone cutaway was so quick and abrupt that it was really funny.

Not a bad ep. I liked the references to Fred Flintstone, Rocky the Squirrel and He-Man. But I did miss a part.

I missed when they mentioned what happened to Kevin.
I also didn't see what exactly started the fight between Stewie and Susie.

Can someone fill me in here?

This was a standard FG episode, which is not a bad thing. A lot of recent episodes have been sub-standard. There was a pretty decent plot here, not original, but FG isn't about originality; sometimes it's just about doing a really typical sitcom plot in an atypical way. Most of the jokes worked, including Stewie blocking Brian from going downstairs, which could've been annoying but wasn't. I can't say I was dying of laughter, but it was a solid episode.

Gee, I actually prefer Lisa on American Dad. But then, I've always preferred brunettes to blondes.

Gee, I've seen other networks do similar things, but it's usually only after their initial campaign failed. For instance, ABC tried to advertise The Unusuals as a comedy, but after it bombed they switched to advertising it as dark and gritty. Then it bombed even harder. I don't know why Fox would have two different advertising campaigns at the same time. That seems pretty self defeating, though everything about Glee sounds self defeating. They're supposedly going to air one episode of Glee this season and they're not going to air the second episode till Fall. If that's not a failure waiting to happen I don't know what is.
