The season finale airs tonight at 9 PM Eastern. It's also the second Star Wars special that Family Guy has done. The DVD was released back during Christmas, so this isn't new. However, I'm sure the TV airing will be different from the DVD release and it will be interesting to read about the changes. Also, not everyone has seen the special(me included), so this will be new to some people. Here is the synopsis:
 
I haven't seen this before so it'll be interesting, I guess. :]

I read somewhere that it has cut scenes due to time, but as long as the essential stuff is still there...
 
Noticed cuts so far:

-Aaron Sorkin parody before the power goes out
-Han Solo in a Juicy Fruit commercial
-Han Solo and Chewbacca revealing that the bogus story Vader told about Bruce's dog turns out to be true
-AT-AT being affected with worms
-AT-AT being pregnent with baby AT-AT
-The Beatles and a piece of pie in outer space
-The Allstate commercial parody after Chris crashes in the swamp
-The Empire recruitment video
-The scene involving Vader meeting the bounty hunters hired to hunt down Han and Leia (including Dog and Raggedy Andy)
-Luke and Yoda discussing the best moment in Teen Wolf
-Space bums
-R2-D2 "doing it" with the door controls
-Luke finding his cut off hand as he goes down the chute
 
You know, I'd love it if the Futurama gang did a parody of Star Wars. Because they're funnier than the FG gang. And I like the Futurama characters a LOT more. I think Bender'd be a riot as C3P0, smoking cigars and being rude to everybody. Leela would be a great Leia and Fry would be a great Han Solo, swaggering around, trying to be macho and impress Leia. Dr. Farnsworth would be a HILARIOUS Obiwan Kenobi, and Zoidberg could play Yoda. Yeah a Futurama Star Wars parody could soooo rock.

As for FG's version, it was okay.
 
I KNEW a reference to that was missing! You could just feel it. Giant Chicken is big, Boba Fett is big, Chicken being Fett would get a big and positive fan reaction, but the episode didn't have a lead-in/intro scene.

That had me laughing crazy! They totally delivered! Excellent job! They had me at the FOX bashing, which I'm glad was not edited at all because I dislike Fox Entertainment enough for them to leave it alone. Doing anything at all would have resulted in an angry letter at the very least.

Any jokes that were weaker in nature were still satisfying for what they were, and what's more is that they were sandwiched near solid hilarious Family Guy home runs.

Thanks to H Jon Benjamin convenient store guy for being Yoda. That was as hilarious as it was fitting to the Family Guy characters.

I had previously said that Part 1 for Robot Chicken was better than the Part 1 of Family Guy (although it was a close race) but which Part 2 is better is way too close to call.

What I could use more of is Prancing CGI Elephant. Next time I need a new username or screen name I want it to be that.
 
The second Family Guy Star Wars special was mega awesome/hilarious,

The highlights:
I love the cute prancing CGI elephant.
It's Elroy, hahahaha.
The Joe Swanson ship, hehehe.
Cookie Monster as the snow monster was amazing/hilarious, hahahaha:p:D.
Lois is hot/great as Princess Leia.
R2-Cleveland being the first droid with hair is funny.
It's George Takei, hehehe.
Don Knotts as the Don Don was hilarious, hahahaha.
Herbert was great as Obi-Won Kenobi.
Rodney Dangerfield.
Peter beating up Lois was funny, hahahaha.
The Nimoy mailbox, hehehe.
Stewie was awesome as Darth Vader, I always love his villain roles.
Bruce gets another villain role after Greedo, niice.
It's James Woods, cool.
Dan's death from the entire Empire was funny, hehehe.
Consuela now invades Stewie Vader's place besides the Griffin Family's, hahahaha.
The AT-AT Walker doing the Peter leg injury gag was hilarious, hahahahaha:p:D.
Stewie's farts were funny.
The R2-Cleveland recidal joke.
The handicap sign on the asteroid, hehehe.
The Real World parody with Peter, hahaha.
R2-Cleveland falling down like his bathtub gag was funny/priceless, hahahaha.
The Legion of Doom parody stopped by Chris was funny, hehehe.
Carl was amazing as Yoda.
Carter was fantastic as Emperor Palpatine.
The Evil Monkey was great/funny as the flying creatures.
Peter mostly shooting made me laugh so hard, hahahahahaha.
Meg as the giant worm creature was hilarious, hahahaha, the writers love giving her the lousy roles.
Chris & his head singing was disturbing/funny.
A random baby from the garbage, hehehe.
The Giant Chicken was awesome as Boba Fett:D, what a perfect suitable villain role for him who's the next Psy-Crow, hehehe.
Mort as Lando looks funny when he's black from the writers.
The music torture was funny.
The frozen mooning Peter was hilarious, hahahaha.
So silly with the car going by while Chris/Stewie were lightsaber dueling.
Chris pulling a Wile E. Coyote before falling was awesome/funny.
James Caan.
The return of "WHHAAAA" from Chris, hehehe.
It's Tom Selleck being called from Chris, hehehe.
The Turn The Ship Around song from Gloria Estefan was funny as much as I loved her song, Turn The Beat Around.
Peter & Chris mentioning Robot Chicken again was pretty great/classic.
All the 4th wall breaking from it was pretty hilarious/great.

I'm sad that FOX cut out alot of the awesome parts from it, but I can buy the uncut DVD pretty soon though.
 
I have the complete Something Something Darkside on my iPod (downloaded it from iTunes).

The episode starts with the blackout instead of a reality show spoof the Griffiins watch?

Will there be the third Family Guy/Star Wars spoof take this time a take off of Return of the Jedi by 2011-2012, probably as a full length 3-D movie or something like that?
