Not the end for the yellow family from Springfield but it appears their domination of animated sitcoms maybe smashed by Family Guy.

Figures for the last few weeks have pointed that Family Guy is out rating the Simpsons on Sky 1 and Channel 4. Family Guy achieved 803,000 this week on BBC 3 while The Simpsons got 535,000 on a EARLIER time slot. Impressive.

It appears that the Simpsons as the UK's number one animated family maybe at danger from the Griffins. I think a 9pm slot for Family Guy on BBC2 could be on the cards.:D

Wow. I hope J.B. doesn't find out.

Oh no, here he comes!
So....we were talking about sheep, right? What do you think is the most effective method of shearing? I prefer against the grain, myself.

Wow, that's impressive. I remember that it was sometime last year or the year before that Family Guy was in late timeslots, and not achieving it's audience fully.

Do you know how American Dad is doing?

I have'nt a clue what's happening with American Dad! it seems to have dissapeared into thin air. There was rumours that Bravo aquired it for adult swim but I think they were declared false.

I don't know if BBC has dropped it.

This surprises me, I mean Family Guy has quite a lot of US pop culture references that I didn't think would translate well on UKTV

Yes The Simpsons has it's fair share, but Family Guy to me seems to have even more

Family Guy's pretty big with the kind of people who have probably bathed in enough American culture to get those specific jokes. It's nice to see the BBC seem to have made this worked, since when they first got it they really didn't seem to know who to aim it at. That and the fact they started with season 3. The majority of FG viewers will have watched those eps over and over on DVD. They wouldn't be too excited to see them again.
