Family Guy movie confirmed by MacFarlane...possible animation/live-action hybrid?

The ultimate crossover movie... Family Guy meets The Simpsons.:p With cameos from other FOX shows like King of the Hill, American Dad, Sit Down, Shut Up and Futurama.

Therein lies the problem: Seth & Crew have enough trouble filling a simple 22 minutes of airtime without stopping for a 3 minute Conway Twitty cutaway, or the drawn out and painful cavemen joke, or Stewie hunting down Will Ferrel.

The last thing I want to pay for is a Family Guy movie that uses a 15 minute chicken fight cutaway.

It goes without saying, but a Stewie and Brian-centric main storyline would be best, since the "Road To" episodes and Untitled Story have the most epic and strongest plots in the FG canon.

I don't know why people keep talking like Seth is going to blow the opportunity to turn out something really cool by giving us a feature length Family Guy film that expands on all the failings of the show. That doesn't even make sense. Why would he do something like that? A feature length Family Guy movie with a theatrical budget is going to be in a whole other ballpark than the series. You know they're going to ramp everything up and make it as big as possible. The Simpsons Movie wasn't fantastic, but it was miles ahead of what the show was currently like. That's what I expect out of a Family Guy movie. It won't be a masterpiece, but I know it's not going to be an hour and a half of pointless cutaways. That sort of thing can fly in the series but I just don't see that happening in a theatrical feature.

What I expect is a bigger plot, fuller animation, a bunch of "oh my God, how did they get away with that?" jokes and most likely a whole bunch of amazing musical numbers. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be a musical.

I wish people wouldn't predict doom and gloom on a movie that won't even be out for a long, long time.
