Family Guy - "Hannah Banana" - Talkback [11/8]

If you are talking about why the Monkey exists in Chris's closet, it was revealed in a flashback in the precancellation era of the show. Its the same story as here, but with visuals.

Okay first I lol'd a bit when Chris called Peter a fat CLEVELAND but I screamed, I friggin' screamed, when Peter's head was smashed.

I wasn't in love with this episode, but it did have that certain "something" that's made the past few episodes better than usual. (As opposed to the somewhat older Patrick Swayze episode.) The King Kong parody at the end felt inspired.

See, I didn't really care for this episode either. It felt really forced and the Miley jokes didn't really seem that "biting". (Except that hilarious Billy Ray one)

This episode is going to age poorly, it would have been similar if they had done a Lizzie McGuire/Hilary Duff episode in 2003.

Guess you missed the episode of Ducktales where Webbie grows to a giant because of some special waterfall in the Amazon and when they come back to Duckburg she's grabs a monkey (also from the Amazon) and climbs atop a giant building. Biplanes come at her and the whole bit.

The ep was called "Attack Of The 50-Foot Webby"

Yes, Ducktales is awesome! :D

I'm sure in 1999, someone said the same thing about those Britney and *NSYNC jokes. And remember that Luke Perry is gay episode? Man, that episode is so dated it's painful to watch.

Did they ever base an episode around Britney or NSYNC? Nope

Plus, Britney is still around and relevant in pop culture and NSYCN gave birth to Justin Timberlake, who is huge.

I seriously doubt Miley Cyrus is going to be a big name in 5 years, maybe she will if she has a mental breakdown similar to Spears or Lohan, or changes her act, but I just can't see her having the staying power especially because she is so closely associated with the Disney brand, granted even if she did leave Disney, people would still see her the same way unless she starts doing cocaine and hanging out with Paris Hiltion.

Of course you say this like Family Guy is the only show that dates itself in this way. Simpsons does it from time to time, and "Hannah Banana" is somewhat similar to South Park's "The Ring". Only in that case the subject matter was the Jonas Brothers, wasn't it.

And of course everything you just said was an assumption anyway.

You really need to knock this off. It's really annoying when you assume I'm going after Family Guy and solely Family Guy, making me out to be some idiotic basher of the show.

I was voicing my opinion on this sole episode. I feel like I can't even come in these threads anymore because you go after me and act like I'm campaigning for Family Guy to end.

You need to learn to accept the fact someone may have valid complaints against the series. And for someone who constantly complains about people bringing South Park into Family Guy threads, you were the first person in this thread to bring South Park up.

Because she's a fad, and yeah she's been popular for a couple of years, but she's going to outgrow the Disney label and amount to nothing more than a has been.

You know that's not fact, and there's a real possibility that Miley Cyrus might make a name for herself after dropping the Disney label.

Just look at a couple other stars that had started with Disney.
