Family Guy - "Go Stewie Go" - Talkback [3/14]

That's what I was thinking as well.

Did Fox purposely schedule weak episodes of the Simpsons and Family Guy tonight (and pre-empty the Cleveland Show) just to make Sons of Tuscon look good on its series premiere?

I thought tonight's FG was excellent. The humor was pretty spot on today and the randomness was pretty awesome.

I really loved how they didn't do many "Gay Stewie" jokes this episode (but that's the best Stewie IMO).

Family Guy has improved a lot this season and I can't wait to see more.
 
I liked this episode a lot.
For a second I thought there'd be a lot of gay Stewie jokes due to the title.
But really, Stewie was in great form here and I liked how Meg was hanndled here too.
Peter/Lois relationship thing was a better plot here than Marge/Homers was tonight.
Over all an ok episode.
 
I actually liked Stewie falling in love with a girl, which is a rare case nowadays. I like how he actually had feeling for her. Lois sideplot was nice well, especially tricking me into thinking that it would have been a story about Meg. Though I thought the Stewie plot ended very abruptly as well, the Lois one ended nicely.

Another swell outing for Family Guy Tonight. March 14 is a pretty awesome day thanks to Pokemon and Family Guy for me.
 
Yeah, I called that.

I liked the Mrs. Doubtfire gag, but other than that there were no stand out ones this time. I really disliked that cut to commercial after Stewie's "reveal", and the scene afterwards didn't really make up for it.

(Who did Nana Visitor voice in the episode? Saw her name in the credits.)
 
Family Guy endings work so much better with a quick cut to the credits. That's how Adult Swim handles it and it works incredibly well. I don't like the pre-credit commercial break on FOX.
 
Like a lot of people have already said, a decent episode with a really abrupt ending. Both plots were excellent, and had their share of jokes.

Some of my favorites tonight were Quagmire eavesdropping on Bonnie and Lois' conversation, the town all observing Meg and her boyfriend, Stewie and Karina getting into a shouting match and the Sesame Street knock-offs.
 
Hilarious/touching episode,

The highlights:
Meg's legless boyfriend Justin, hehehe.
Everybody especially Dr.Hartman invading & seeing Meg with her new boyfriend, Anthony, hahahaha.
The return of Cleveland, niice.
Lois is so creepy with the drawing of herself to Anthony, hehehe.
The great Tootsie/Mrs.Doubtfire gag with Stewie being Karina which Bobby's World did that gag as well, hehehe.
Big fat slob James Earl Jones as Darth Vader:ack::eek:, hahahaha.
Uh-oh, Lois in love with Anthony.
Quagmire peeking in Lois/Bonnie's conversation was hilarious, hahahahaha:p:D, he rocks!!!!!
Stewie totally got Brian good being Karina, poor Brian, hahahahaha.
Stewie falling in love with a new girl named Julie is a sweet new plot for Stewie, Julie is cute & a good new character.
I hate that annoying brat Randall who needs a brutal beating who's worse than Olivia.
Herbert was hilarious in the crowd, hahahaha.
Meg driving with Psycho Carter, hahahaha.
I love the Seinfeld song at the end with Lois busted by Meg.
Mayor Adam West's line was funny, hehehe.
Bert & Gernie, female versions of Bert & Ernie, hahahahaha.
Poor Stewie's switch-a-roo back & forth meeting Julie.
Stewie & Karina's shouting match, hahahaha.
Peter/Lois's relationship plot was way better than Homer/Marge's relationship plot on tonight's episode.
Poor Stewie couldn't get the girl after revealing his true identity:(, but it was a great plot for him though.
Sucks that Randall didn't got a comeuppance at the end, oh well.

I'm happy this new episode didn't have Brian's annoying liberalism which was great.
 
This episode had a nice old school feel to it. It did feel very season 3. There was barely any cutaways and lots of focus on, you know, the plot. Plus, it wasn't gay Stewie. So, yeah, very old school.
 
The main plot was okay. I haven't seen Tootsie so it was new to me. I liked seeing Jolly Farm used again, as that was one of the first few episodes I watched in the original run on Fox, when I first fell for this show.

The B-plot, from five minutes in, was disturbing as heck. And when I'm disturbed, I'm not laughing.
 
Didn't Stewie say he didn't watch Jolly Farm back in Season 2 or 3?

Not a very good episode. I probably only laughed at 2 gags here but that's it. Very dry for Family Guy this week.:shrug:

Maybe that's why 'The Cleveland Show' was pre-empted this week. I guess he was away driving to Quahog. :)

It was interesting that people mentioned the Mrs. Doubtfire gag. It was interesting to see the part where Stewie was arguing with himself/Karina. But I couldn't remember where I heard it before, so I'm glad that was cleared up.

The SS parody was good as well.

The Meg subplot was good, but I was a bit disappointed that they left it with Meg still being angry at Lois. Oh, well. That will probably be forgotten in the next ep.

It was also neat that they remembered something from season 3 even down to the 'Want to get some ice cream?' line.
 
This is a little confusing. So is Stewie actually gay or not? The writers seem to be playing with this now, even though they are a little late at this...

Looks like the writers also realized that they just did a Meg-focused episode, so they zig-zagged it to Lois, but Meg somehow got involved. However...



Huh, I kinda find this hilarious, because it would be awkward, as well.
 
I thought this was a pretty good one. I had actually watched tootsie some last year, so I got some of the references.

I agree with the people who says Fox only showed this to have a good lead-in to "Sons Of Tucson", which I actually enjoyed.
