Family Guy - "Friends of Peter G." - Talkback [2/13]

Not a very good episode, but the jokes were pretty solid here. Seems the CatDog reference was a hit, and I totally enjoyed the Booze number and the KFC joke.

All I was really disappointed in was the lack of Brian experiencing some repercussions from his drinking as well. It seemed like influenced Peter tonight more than usual.

As soon as they went into AA, I thought "Brian, shut up. Brian, shut up. Brian.....AAARGH!" I should just rename my Mute button the "Brian Griffin Button."

Otherwise, middle-of-the-road episode. Didn't think much was funny, and with drunks, it's usually easy. The song was way too long (and no, that can't be the joke, Seth, not anymore). It was nice to see Death again though.

Nah, it's really what they think. The 47,000 other anti-God gags they've done don't help their case.

I really hope there isn't a fratboy out there so stupid that he gets all his opinions from Seth MacFarlane cartoons.

Of course not, but there are people who agree with them. But hey, I guess that makes me a dumb fratboy(or a dumb military service member in my case, since I'm in the Navy rather than college right now).

But seriously, thanks for being a jerk.

I think they'd be too busy just laughing at the show and would have enough common sense to not take opinions from a talking baby and a talking dog in an animated cartoon. My guess is that if a fratboy is that stupid they probably wouldn't get the jokes anyway.

Great/hilarious episode,

The highlights:
Peter not knowing who Tom Hanks is, hahahahahaha.
Peter talking in the movie theatre with the movie logos showing up, hahahahaha.
Drunken Peter/Brian causing trouble in the movie theatre was hilarious, hahahahaha.
Mr.Sockamy, Peter's sock puppet, hahahahaha.
The William Wordsworth gag.
Bruce/Carl in the Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.
Jenny is pretty hot.
Drunken Peter/Glen/Joe destroying the waterslide, hahahahahaha:p:D.
Stewie's lines after Peter/Lois/Brian's conversation were classic.
Peter/Brian getting everyone drunk in the Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, hahahahahaha, those two love to break the rules, hahahahaha.
The Mr.Booze musical number was great/pretty long.
Ollie and the two foreign boys in the Mr.Booze musical number along with Ollie's story on how he can only speak in short sentences, hahahahaha.
Peter's thoughts on Catdog while humming its opening theme song was super awesome, I missed the series, cool that Seth and his crew referenced the past Nicktoons.
Yaaaay, Death is back, nice to see one of my favorite early minor characters come back.
Death showing Peter a glimpse from what life is like without alcohol was pretty great.
Drunken Peter burning his family with his cigar was  hilarious, hahahahahaha.
The Sober Peter with a new perfect voice looks awesome which he finally learned a lesson, so weird/rare.
The drunken sea gulls were hilarious reminding me of the two drunken little boys, hahahahahaha:p:D.

Adam Carolla was terrific as Death next to Norm Mc.Donald.

I agree with that. It was good though. If they had just cut it down a few minutes, it would have been much better. Though it was nice to hear the story of how Ollie can only speak in short sentences.

I liked the 'Laugh and Cry/F'n' Cry' bit though.

Also, I'm a bit surprised that no one mentioned the actual footage from 'The Sound of Music.' I thought it was cool to hear Peter's comments on that. Though I don't recall the movie having that many unusual logos. Lol.

I couldn't believe Peter learned a lesson. The Booze song was great and so was the Seagull KFC joke. Didn't expect a CatDog reference. It was amazing how Peter could have turned out if he had never touched alcohol.

This was an interesting episode, considering that Peter learned how to moderate his drinking at the end.

Peter's rant about the movie logos is true because they're sometimes known to throw an audience off, specifically the "period movie" logo and the guy with the mangled arm.

And like most here, I'm surprised that CatDog got mentioned in the episode, right down to Peter in his drunken state, trying to sing the CatDog theme song.

What I liked most was Peter's drunken "laugh and cry/effen cry, what's the difference??" in reference to the misheard lyric within the show's own theme song.

The seagulls eating KFC was good, too.

What I don't get is why was sober Peter voiced by Mike Henry? That's the only thing that threw me off.

Funny episode, although from the promos, I thought we were getting Death earlier in the ep. It was fine, though, I liked the musical number, the alternate drunk and sober Peters (the bit about laugh and cry/effin' cry had me laughing for a bit), and, like pretty much everyone has said, the Catdog reference.

Well, Cleveland was really the only one who technically died (when Stewie did the simulation ended), so it was probably better to just do the quick cutaway of him in heaven.

It's not like Tom Hanks is the only one in the guess the celebrity thing, why did Family Guy have to use the same one the Simpsons did? And I think Otm Shank was funnier, more of a surprise.

Sober Peter was actually voiced by John Viener, who pretty much uses his regular voice for every character he voices. I'm pretty sure the joke was that Peter was so lame when he was sober, he even spoke in a completely different, cheesy voice.

The Mr. Booze musical was just... too long. Five minutes took out plenty of time from the episode. It was good until then, and after that, it collapsed and got horrible. Well, other than when Peter saw himself sober and much more drunk.

I loved the song (on it's own it's a really great piece) but I also agree that it was too long and took time away from the main plot.

Finally got around to watching this. While I usually like musical numbers in this show, the BOOZE one just went on a tad too long. I liked the Catdog reference but I thought Stewie's "our teacher hit us" joke was pretty funny too.

Ya didn't really care for this episode... Nice to see Peter learn a lesson but I feel like Brain really needed to learn it aswell. Though frankly i feel like they got a bit too heavy handed with the message

Y'know honestly watching the episode I couldn't help but be reminded of when South Park tackled the same issue, and that was an episode I enjoyed a whole lot more... I think its something like a show don't tell kind of thing. With South park I was having fun right along with the show and the lesson blended right in where as with this family guy episode it felt like they were smacking me over the head with a message

only thing i really liked about this episode was the catdog reference
