Family Guy - "FOX-y Lady" - Talkback [3/22]

Never said no one has that right. But Don East seems to be insinuating that Seth is somehow not allowing others to have opinions of their own. How is that possible? Seth can be an opinionated jerk all his wants but it doesn't take away someone else's right to have an opinion.

I'm just getting sick of episode talkbacks becoming full of hate before the show even airs.

I admit, I'm exagerating a little bit. But you gotta admit, whenever it comes to respecting other peoples' opinion, this show doesn't have a good record.

"Believed God created the world? You're an idiot."
"Don't support abortions? You're crazy."
"Voting for John McCain? You're a Nazi."

That's like me saying everyone who likes who doesn't like anime is a racist. You can't help but be a little offended.

I'm not saying he's taking away my opinion. I'm just sick of how he treat opinions that are contradictive to his own.

Btw, I just want to point out that Seth has an entire team of writers and directors who make every episode. It baffles me how people are constantly saying that every single opinion on this show is Seth's own. Many are I'm sure, but that's like saying every opinion on King of the Kill is Mike Judge's own.

However, IMHO South Park is all Trey Parker and Matt Stone. And yet even at the show's worst I've never seen it get the sort of hate Family Guy gets.

LOL if Family Guy offends people so much they should stick to the Simpsons, where the most offensive thing on that show is how bad their crappy puns are.

;)

I meant to say "they" and "their", I'm so use to complaining stuff and directing my complaints to one person. I forgot that this has a whole team of writers.

Well, Seth is a little bit of a jerk these days and hard to admit it but that show he's making is morally repugnant. What kind of person does he think he is. He may have a right to express his opinions and feelings, but he's making a load crap about what we think, pardon my bad language. But it just sorta bugs how he gets money by doing this. All I can do is just ignore him and move on.

Now, whenever I see or hear something from Comedian Rush Limbaugh, I'll think....."What would you THINK if I sang out of tune,Would you stand up and walk out on me. Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song, I will try not to sing out of key....."

Fox News is going to be involved in this episode? Oh, this I have to see!

DarthGonzo, your post sums up my thoughts exactly. While I do think that Family Guy has it's bias, pretty much the rest of the media does too. If people don't like it, then all they have to do is just not watch it. Besides, South Park mocks pretty much everything. Way more than Family Guy in my opinion.

Once again I might as well repeat, I just don't get how South Park is able to wear all of it's biases on it's sleeve and constantly be called smart, brave and daring while heaven forbid Family Guy takes a strong stance on something controversial.

It just astounds me - for example - how everyone gets up in arms when Family Guy criticizes Rebublicans, Bush or politics in general yet South Park has been taking pot shots at religion and race for years while constantly testing it's audience's patience with full episode rips of action films and dramas that I'll bet are just as easy to write as anything Family Guy does.

Yet response to new South Parks are usually overwhelmingly positive while Family Guy talkbacks are full of hate even before the episodes air. It just appears to me that FG bashing has become the in thing while South Park (which I personally think has become a shell of it's former self, despite the occasional winner) always gets a free pass.

Calm down dude! Im A Old fashoned conservative type myself (albit very, ery open minded), but I've never really found anything in FG that bad (well except the Religious & STD humor, yeah the 2nd one is a place people should never go!) But hey If you can't laugh at your self then who can you laugh at, But I must adimit if it wern't for stewie I myself would have stopped wathcing the show long ago, theres somthing about Evil children I just find amusing beyond words :p  :D

I'll admit there are those times when I do think Family Guy does go too far and many times even I'm surprised at how far it goes. But I can't say the show ever truly offends or upsets me. Every episode is prefaced with a disclaimer for a reason.

Word. It's just like I once said to another former Toon Zone poster who shall remain nameless: If Family Guy really offends you that much, the best thing for you to do is simply stop watching it. Seth isn't going to change his show just for you.
