Family Guy - "Foreign Affairs" - Talkback [5/15]

Yup, definitely felt like a hold over from a previous season. The Lois/Bonnie plot felt a little more serious than Peter's attempt at teaching, but it was quite repetitive and didn't produce many laughs to me. But that American Dad cutaway and the twist of Quagmire being Joe's legs had me rolling.

Also, I manually started reading the lyrics of Riders of the Storm in my mind when it popped up. Definitely didn't expect that.

Great/hilarious/weak episode,

The highlights:
Jafar/Iago, sweet, that's the second time they use him, I hope to see other Disney movie villains they'll use:anime:.
Bonnie gets a major role, sweet.
Joe with the dogs, hahahaha.
Peter the boxing coach.
People licking the subway area, sick/funny.
A man licking Peter, gross, Peter is so violated, hahahahaha.
Peter the gymnast, his gymnast coach is a sick wackjob, hahahahaha.
Glen and the aliens.
Bonnie's affair, interesting.
The Muppet Lois/Bonnie sightseeing scene, hahahahaha:p:D:D.
Peter as a crazy homeschool teacher, awesome!!!!!
Naked Peter/Chris on scooters, hahahahaha.
Joe in American Dad! was epic, hahahahaha, nice that he walks, cool to see the Smith Family, and Joe/Stan do look alike, hehehe:D:D:p.
The Brave Pioneers(that death scene was sick/brutal), Henry the 8th, and Joseph Smith gags, hahahahaha.
The old music video may be pretty long next to Conway Twitty, but it was pretty great.
Lois mentioning The Biggest Loser.
Franswa is a great new boyfriend for Bonnie, Bonnie has a creepy fetish for handicap wheelchair people.
The Desert scene with Peter/Chris/Meg, hahahahaha.
The mimes gag, but wooooow, that mime's hand is a real gun, hahahahaha.
Nice with Bonnie/Joe back together.
Joe is walking, yaaaaay, oh wait Glen Quagmire is on the back making him walk, hahahahahaha.
The Naked Teacher on the scooter along with his foul swearing was  hilarious, hahahahaha.

The episode would've needed more great Brian/Stewie moments and Meg-bashings, but Meg was actually funny in the desert scene though, and for some reason, Evil Psycho Meg way back was pretty hilarious.

I find it funny that you said this and that "Juice is Loose" was the Adult Swim's repeat episode at the same time.

Count me with one of those people that thought the music video went on way too long. This was a 3 minute music video to top it off. Other than that, I enjoyed the story with Bonnie. I did feel like it could have went either way with Bonnie leaving Joe. But man, so many cutaways, I thought we were starting to rely less on that. As for Peter teaching the kids, it was entertaining filler.

I really liked that part. Were the scenes taken from a real Muppet movie? It looked quite familiar.

That was so irritating. You'd think they would have learned after the Conway Twitty thing. Though while the show was on the shelf in my refrigerator broke and I had a lot of glass to clean up, so in this case it's a good thing because it gave me time to take care of that.

Minus the music video I enjoyed the episode. Lois and Bonnie sight seeing as muppets was funny. I was shocked when Peter started using a scooter naked. The desert scene really had me laughing. I liked the part of Quagmire being Joe's legs so he could walk with Bonnie. I wonder how the 3rd Star Wars parody next week will be.

This episode had some great gags, like the Muppets and the American Dad intro. Peter as a teacher was funny since he began every class like it was the first one. I also liked the quizzing of Chris, who had no idea what was going on, until he was back in school and his teacher acted just like Peter.

I wish we had spent more time with Peter as a teacher, but I have to admit, I didn't mind them showing the entire "Dancing in the Street" video because it's so much fun.

It wasn't bad, aside from the music video. But my opinion is not so skewed by that as I watched it on Hulu and skipped through it after about 10 seconds in.

Yeah. That's the nice thing about watching online. You can fast forward through super-long parts. Heck, I had to do that with my older tapes like with the scene with the caveman and his wife arguing from "Jungle Love" and the opening scene to PTV with Bin Laden. Unfortunately, you don't have that option when you watch the show live.

Personally, I loved the music video part. Blame my love for Bowie and returning interest in Mick Jagger and the Stones, but I just loved watching it on the show.

Probably more than the entire episode itself.

Good episode (music video aside). The cutaways were funny (most), Bonnie's story was kinda interesting & Peter was hilarious as a teacher.

Best was Joe in the American Dad theme song though.

I didn't really like this one,but I can't say I thought it was terrible,either...There were a couple really funny cutaways (Muppet Lois and Bonnie sightseeing and Joe replacing Stan in the American Dad opening)....
Like some other posters,I hated them putting the entire "Dancing in the Street" music video in (a clip or two, fine, but doing the entire video just kills the joke by stretching it out too far)....

I didn't catch this until it aired on Adult Swim. Joe as American Dad was hilarious. They really need to have a cut off limit when it comes to how long the cut aways can go for, espically when it comes to Conway Twitty. Cause the music video was just too long.

I loved all of the cutaway gags and the subplot with Chris and Meg being homeschooled by Peter. Funny episode!

I agree about the long music video. They could've showed a few seconds or at least half of it.
