Family Guy coming to local channel?

I was watching According to Jim on my local Fox 23 Wpfo tonight and saw that Family Guy is coming September 10th, 2007 5 nights a week. I can't wait. Has anyone else seen this on one of their local channel if so please say the network, date and when what time u think it will come on. I think it will be on @ 5pm because the Dr. Keith Ablow isn't doing well so they will probably move it to earlier. :zoidberg:

Yeah it's coming to one of my UPN stations. It's overkill. Between this, Adult Swim, Fox, TBS, and the DVDs, this is getting way too much play. It's getting to be like Law & Order.

Speaking of overkill there's a marathon 11pm-5am of Family Guy on Adult Swim kicking of Adult Swim Friday night. Another question is how come Family Guy is a fox animated show and is on cable and soon to be on locals but, The Simpsons are on Locals but not cable is it to keep it exclusive to Fox or other locals. It could be good on pre-adult swim like 10:30pm on CN. :zoidberg:

But not everyone has the $30-40 to spare. I'm not sure where I'm getting it, if at all, so I'll just have to wait and see if it'll be edited.

On my fox 23 it had a slogan "Edited but just as good." I thought that was kind of odd that they would create a slogan for that. Has anyone else seen it. :zoidberg:

Is this Syndication?

If it is, It's no big deal. I mean the Simpsons are on Prime Time pretty much every day of the week on the Fox affiliate where I live. Comapred with that, Family Guy gaining some secondary time slots is nothing.

Hmm, so it probably means the Fox version, not the uncut version on the DVDs and Adult Swim. But like you said, it is strange they would advertise that. That just convinces me to watch the version on AS.

Yep.

They'll cut out the most offensive jokes, mainly to make room for more commericals. Where the Fox FG episodes are, what, 24 minutes or so, the syndicated versions will be cut down to about 22 minutes for more ad time.

This news is only exciting if you don't have cable. Family Guy is already airing weeknights on [adult swim] and TBS. I'm about Family Guy-ed out now.

No, I'm pretty sure they are 22 minutes long uncut, as most American programming are these days. But it wouldn't surprise me if the syndicated version was shorter. It's happened with many a shows.

It doesn't matter to me; I won't be watching Family Guy in syndication. Turner overplays it enough on [adult swim] and TBS. IMO, FG was simply passable in its' first 3 seasons, and then it just went to crap after its' revival.

Family Guy is really a substandard show, and the constant re-airings of these same episodes over and over only makes it more readily apparent how below average it is. Unless you don't have cable, have never seen the DVDs and simply have never been subjected to FG, there's no reason to watch it in syndication, because you know they'll have to take out the dirty jokes and scatological humor to get it past Standards and Practices and to make room for more ads, but if you take the crude humor out of Family Guy, you're basically left with nothing, which is pretty much what Family Guy already has to offer.
