Family Guy - "Brothers & Sisters" - Talkback [4/17]

Am I just the only one who thought that Adam and Carol's relationship wouldn't work out and would end by the end of the episode. Then by the next episode everyone just seems to have forgotten about it? They've done it before, so I'm shocked to say they actually went with it..

We'll just have to wait for West's next appearance in a future ep to see if they made it.

Yep, no-one can resist kittens. [wink]

An okay episode, but I think Mayor West only works in small samples, not so much a whole episode. Asides from his grocery vows and Beetlejuice talk (oh I wish he had said it three times), most of his lines fell a bit flat.

I'd be happy to see Carol show up again, though. She's got potential.

Well, except for that part at the end where he acted like a child, this was probably one of Peter's best moments. He was the wise one in his relationship with Lois and he helped Carol find someone that apparently is best for her. I just had a feeling that it would've been too cliche for them to go with 'the relationship doesn't work out' in the end and decide to actually make it work. I'm just glad I was right on the money. Still, I do wish they had that Stewie/Chris subplot I heard about. We haven't had many of those.

What do you mean?

I thought Peter and Stewie were hilarious in this, but the plot by itself just bored me. I like Adam West in small doses and had no interest in Lois' sister at all. Wonder if she'll start appearing regularly now.

That episode seemed below average. I guess Lois' sister can't really carry a storyline even with Adam West and Manchild Peter shenanigans.

I did think the Beetlejuice and quick masturbation jokes were the best ones of the night however. They totally went against what I thought they would do.

Awesome/hilarious episode,

The highlights:
Family Ties with a giant satyr Jennifer, hahahahaha.
Nice to see Carol, she's a great funny female character.
Peter's broster, disturbingly funny, hahahaha.
Peter/Stewie's exchanges in the bedroom, they're so hilarious together, hahahahaha:p:D:p.
Glen running away from Carol and her low self-esteem, hehehe.
The heartbroken teenage girl gag, hahahaha.
Mayor Adam West ding-dong ditching, hahahaha.
Mayor Adam West having another major role, yaaaaay!!!!!!
Mayor Adam West/Carol make a wonderful couple.
The random nobleman chasing Mayor Adam West and Carol, hahahahaha.
Mayor Adam West and the two AIDS guys, hehehe.
Robert Loggia from The Sopranos, hahahaha.
Mayor Adam West shooting the fisherman, hahahahaha.
Mayor Adam West and the singles group, hehehe.
Peter the man-child cracks me up reminding me of Pops from Regular Show, hahahaha.
Peter/Mayor Adam West's brother moments have a lot in common for their random funny/crazy antics, hahahahaha.
Mayor Adam West mentioning Beetlejuice, he would of said the name 3 times so he can show up.
Peter's chemistries with Evan/Randall, hahahaha.
Doggie Daddy being one of Carol's ex-boyfriends, hahahahaha.
Peter's giant tropical fish.
Stewie yelling from the other room about Lois/Meg, I love it when he does the background yelling, it's hilarious, hahahahaha:p:D:p.
The short summer in Alaska gag.
The Pigeon in the Ad Agency gag, hahahahaha.
The Thomas Edison vs. Nikola Tesla gag.
Nice to see Glen in his job as a pilot again.
Peter saving the day for making Glen fly back which was smart/epic of him to use Glen's hatred of Brian to his advantage.
Mayor Adam West/Carol getting married was beautiful, I get a feeling their cute relationship won't last though.
Peter bashing Carol was the next best funny ending I love after the Glen bashing Brian one, hahahahaha:p:D.

Julie Hagerty was great as Carol in her guest starring role.
Agreeing with Lockjaw, Brian/Glen's feud so reminds me of Kyle/Eric's feud which is so funny, hahahahahaha.

So they actually got married huh? Didn't see that coming but it was a nice surprise. Best moments were Peter and Mayor Adam West's brother moments. So cute~

I really hope this marriage sticks, but I'm not holding my breath since we all know this show's track record with consistency.

Nope. Seems like that subplot got canned for some reason or other.

The sad thing is I think they overdid it with the cutaways in this ep. They could easily have used that time to show the Chris/Stewie subplot.

I think they'll forget it.

I thought of her at the end of last week's episode when she and Mayor West were still dating. And I bet they cut the subplot.

Good episode. Peter and Stewie were MVPs, even if Stewie had hardly any lines. :p

This episode makes me wonder what happened to Carol's baby. It was funny when Stewiie thought circles fit through rectangles. I enjoyed the scene when Peter threw his sock on Stewie's head. I wanted to see what would've happened if Adam West had finished saying Beetlejuice a third time. Peter being given tropical fish that need to eat in an hour and no fish food by one of Carol's ex-husbands was funny. I loved when Lois was telling Carol that she will eventually feel better and Stewie yelled from the other room, "she says that to Meg a lot, so that's not good." Peter was actually very smart at the end by using Quagmire's hatred of Brian to his advantage to get Quagmire to land the plane. Then he went and ruined that for me when he said, "Hey I just realized I have a sister!" Of course Peter always has more dumb moments than smart.

Edit: I was looking on Wikipedia and saw that the next episode is airing May 1st. Here's the plot:
This is the FG, AD, Cleveland crossover 3 parter. Titled: Seashore Seashell Party. The Griffins seek ways to pass the time and calm their nerves when a storm hits Quahog. Brian ingests some questionable substances that cause him to see bizarre and unsettling things, while Chris, Lois and Peter take jabs at Meg, who lashes out at them when they push her too far.

Sounds like a bunch of phony baloney if you ask me. If this were true, wouldn't there have been an announcement about it earlier? Since this is not only two, BUT three shows cross-overing with each other. Sounds like a pretty big deal to tell the public about prior to airing if you ask me.

Great episode. I like it when some minor characters take the sporlight. and I guess Qugamire still hates Brian after the evnets form last ep. I was surprised that they got married, but with all the death's back in September being canon, this isn't that big comring.

Best jokes: Peter's broster, Mayor West ding-dong ditching, Stewie (with the shapes, & the sock & the Florida whore& the Lois/Meg comment), the heartbroken girl, the AIDS gag, the dude from the Sopranos shoutin NOT OK!, West & Beetlejuice, Peter with the topical fish (including the future gag), the summers in Alaska gag, West shooting the fisherman, the Edison & Telsa gag & the end.

Overall: Sweet funny ep.

Actually, considering Glen didn't cuss Brian out or even try to retaliate on him this time brings up the possibility that he may not have believed Peter, but was just acting on a whim.

Remember, in Tiegs for Two they somewhat patched things up.

Plus obviously Peter had to confess to him about lying.

.......I can tell they are trying to bury the Glen not liking Brian arc, since it's gotten a little on the hateful side.

Plus even GLEN probably wouldn't believe Brian to eat KITTENS!

Again, considering Quagmire didn't show any signs of anger towards Brian from Peter's claim and didn't attack or cuss him out at all, it could be that he didn't believe he would really do that, but was just acting on impulse for a gag.

It looks like Quagmire really MAY be starting to tolerate Brian a little...

an' Peter was just a jerk trying to throw Brian under the bus when he and Quagmire are trying to PATCH THINGS UP!

Okay episode not as hilarious as last weeks but still good. Nice to see Lois sister show up again but tbh she really didn't bring anything special too the episode.

As for Quagmire and Brian, no one knows for sure wether they are on good terms or not until they're once again shown in dialogue together. However actions speak louder than words, the fact that Quagmire was willing to risk his job and turn an entire flight around because he thought Brian was going to harm kittens speaks volumes. Somehow i doubt Quagmire would have been that irrational or even believe Peter if it was somebody else.

At anyrate i hope their feud continues, its one of the Best things that has happened to Family Guy over the years and its made both characters more interesting. It reminds me of the Cartman/Kyle feud just more Awkward and at times passive aggressive than straight up hatred.
