Family Guy - "Brian Writes a Bestseller" - Talkback [11/21]

Yeah, there has been. I hope that was basically one long running joke about how the guy was so out of it that all the ideas had been done, like Batman having a son.

This episode was OK. Pretty predictable plot with Brian getting over his head after a bad idea of his turned out to be a good one. Of course, Brian was the perfect character for this role. If anyone else did it, it would seem forced. I can't see Stewie in a role like Brian's or anyone else.

I did enjoy the bit where Stewie said "I hope it doesn't rain" and gets stabbed instead. Nice twist on that joke. I did enjoy the part where Brian was on the show, that quote near the end where Bill talked about if he had respect would make a good insult somewhere.

My guess would be that the writers are making Stewie secretly falling in love with Brian instead of hating him, I mean they were hinting this in previous seasons. That's probably why he didn't do anything to Brian.

This episode only adds to my grief with Brian Griffin and only seals how much of a jerk he is. However, like most here, the live action portion was probably the funniest bit, considering that Brian didn't know what he was talking about.

see okay granted but then if it isn't continuous it just ruins flow of any character development the two of them can (or have previously made)
one episode they're chums like fred and barney, the other stewie is being a jerk and totally ripping on brian and the next it continues
Now while I can argue that direction, it is just so disjointed as if they don't know what they want this dynamic duo to be because it changes at the drop of the hat. Personally this wasn't a favorable episode ... in fact I am honestly hoping next week or the rest of the season is better

OK everybody let's face it.

The main point of this episode was fanservice for the Brian-haters. It seems like a lot of Brian-haters liked it while a Brian-fan like me didn't like it that much.

See, the main problem I see with Brian now is that the fandom is so split over him. They can't make a Brian episode that both sides like, it can only cater to the haters, like this episode, or to the fans like, oh I don't know, "Not All Dogs Go to Heaven"?

I liked the coma joke though LOL.:anime:
