Family Guy - "Brian & Stewie" - Talkback [5/2]

Seriously? Does not compute with Stewie and Brian
I hope it has tons of humor in it. I mean, doesn't need cut ways just to be funny right?

I don't consider an episode that's a deep character study like tonight's gimmicky in any way. But that's just me.

I was really hoping they would have aired "The List" tonight. Oh well.

Is this supposed to be funny? It seems like they're trolling the audience all the way.
I guess it proves that FG writers can really do whatever they want.

EDIT: Holy **** that final monologue was just... :crying:

I'll give it this. It was different. It's certainly the #1 example to use against the criticism that FG can only stay stuck in a cyclical rut.

I don't think anything equal could have been done for characters besides Stewie and Brian. But still.

Also, hey, guess what. No cutaways.

MacFarlane's shows are obviously more dialogue driven than anything, hence why the animation and character design is not as lively as other cartoons, sans the times it's done for a scene or gag. This episode is one I would like to see MacFarlane do live on stage, just by himself.

You do realize that one of the songs that appeared in the second half of the show (the one involving Brian singing to the old lady about all the things that she has missed) did win the show an Emmy, right?

The Brian and Stewie plot were pretty enjoyable and I was surprised as to how it was played straight. I did get a laugh out of all the things they said and did in the vault, and how those two actually care for each other, despite giving each other a hard time every chance they get.

As for the musical numbers, wished they showed some more of them, but I did end up liking "Got a Lot to See" "Sheboopi" and "Drunken Irish Dad" definitely some of my favorite songs during FG's run.
