Family Guy - "Brian Griffin's House of Payne" - Talkback [3/28]

I was dissapointed in this episode I got a few laughs out of it. Mostly during the script changing sequences and Chris and Meg's mishaps. (Though the maggots developing space technology made me laugh hard) My partner said funny you should mention a shark cause they may have just jumped it. I wouldn't go that far but I felt this was one of the weakest episodes this season.

We got 3 celebrities in one episode and the opening was great
My favorite parts are the gravity scene and Big Jaws XD
 
I'm surprised no one has mentioned yet that Meg gets a decent-sized role here and no one trashes her. I guess that's because Stewie is the one getting the abuse this week. Poor little guy.
 
I've noticed that she hasn't been treated badly since the episode when she went to prison (with the exception of going after Meg's boyfriend but I didn't really see that in the "lolmegabuse" light).
 
I felt bad for Stewie this episode.
But yah, liked the subplot a bit more. Added more humor.
Much better than Simpsons episode this week.
Over all I give it a 3/5.
 
I liked the opening, but the rest of the show was kind of a letdown and the ending was rather abrupt. Stewie could have had a better line than he did.

I did like Meg having a substantial role that didn't involve abuse.
 
This has been a good episode. Peter and Lois are now closer than ever, however I don't think I'm happy about the reason for it.

Poor Stewie...
 
Kinda ironic considering that he's the most popular character in the series. Maybe his popularity dropped?

Also, is it me or are they dropping the whole "no one can understend stewie" bit?
 
Any idea on when this episode will air on Adult Swim? I didn't get to see *any* of the shows tonight because a big part of the state around me had some nasty tornados (None where I live, but some of the surrounding cities were hit hard) and the whole hour and a half was pre-empted by the local weather.
 
Great/hilarious episode along with James Woods' return, hehehe,

The highlights:
That new opening is epic with Stewie's space imagination battling a giant Peter head spaceship, hahahahaha.
Peter making Rupert talk luring Stewie in the basement was funny.
Brian had a first pilot script for a television show, neat.
Peter's Big Jaws idea was awesome/funny.
Lois getting rid of Brian pestering her was funny, hehehe.
Poor Stewie falling down the stairs leaving a gash on his head shocked me, ouch:ack::eek:!!!!
The long nosed Italian guys & the Italian joke were funny which they remind me of Mr.Swindler from Garfield And Friends, hehehe, he was an awesome villain from that show.
Chris/Meg's mishaps with the unconscious Stewie was funny relating to Weekend At Bernie's, hehehe.
Peter's wish from the wishbone for no gravity was funny, hahaha.
Elijah Wood was awesome as Byron for Brian's television show.
James Woods is back, YESSS:D!!!!
Those CBS executives were pretty evil taking advantage of Brian's pilot script to make it into a funny sitcom, hehehe.
Hillary is hot.
The tiny spaceship/raccoon messing on poor Stewie's gash was gross/funny.
The cast of Two & A Half Men appearing, nice.
Everyone staring at Brian slowly was creepy/funny, hehehe:p:D.
Joe going psycho on Brian was hilarious & I'm shocked that Quagmire saved Brian due to his hatred of him.
Brian standing up to the evil CBS executives was great.
Yikes, Stewie's gash getting bigger was so nasty, poor Stewie.
Peter was cruel for throwing poor Stewie on the driveway.
Peter's Big Jaws movie was super awesome, hehehe.
Nice that Stewie is all better at the end.
Woooow, I'm shocked that James Woods didn't got trapped in the crate from the candy lure this time.

Cool with them having three celebrities which both Elijah Wood, James Woods, & Charlie Sheen were great.
I'm shocked that Meg got a decent role with no abuse only giving the abuse to poor Stewie though.
Besides James Woods, I hope they'll bring back Gloria Ironbachs, Bertram, & Patrick, Lois's psychopath brother which they were great villains as well.
 
After the last two duds, this was a relieving return to form. I'd watch it again, alongside anything from Season 3. It really felt classic. Maybe this was because a new fresh writer handled it.
 
There was only 1 cutaway involving Hitler and the sitcom producer.

Was the opening credits of this Family Guy episode with Stewie as a space pilot mocking Battlestar Galatica if not Star Wars (FOX has yet to air the Family Guy "Something Something Darkside" episode)?

Was there even a blooper where Brian was speaking in James Woods' voice?

I even noticed Stewie is still alive at the end as we finally heard him talk at the end that he woke up and noticed it's November.

One quote to sum it up that's the best: "ITALIANS ARE NOT JEWS".
 
It does seem like Lois has always been the one to 'least likely' understand Stewie. Peter understood him from time to time, but because of his low intellegence, he doesn't really pay much attention.



That might be the case, but recall in the last ep when Lois wasn't paying attention to Meg's claim about being 'sexually harassed.' I guess that one was more 'negligent' than 'abusive' though.
