Family Guy - "And Then There Were Fewer" - Talkback [9/26]

Very well done episode tonight. The CG-enhanced opening made me grumble a little but that's just me. The music was awesome, I hope they keep it up. It's going to be a little weird without the newscasters we're familiar with, but at least they didn't get rid of Meg. Without her the show would lack the punching bag character. I can't wait until they release this with additions. I just hope they don't make us buy an extra disc outside of the season pack.

You know, it sounds like the Griffins are the only ones with actual motives to murder James. Everyone else was just annoyed by him.

Well, at least that's what I thought until that revelation with Muriel.

I didn't like this one nearly as much as everyone else here seemed to. The episode just dragged on way too long, and I don't really feel like the show used its hour runtime to its full advantage. I know a lot of the slow parts were there to help build atmosphere, but it just seemed like they needed to fill an hour and decided that having people walk around slowly was the best way to do that.

The jokes and the character interactions and the music and the mystery and everything else was great. It just wasn't enough to fill out the hour.

I thought it was interesting, and the animation here looks much better than it does normally....The whole murder-mystery kept me guessing (at first,I thought it'd be James Woods' girlfriend,or Stewie, but no,it turns out to be Diane)....
Of the dead recurring characters (if this is indeed canon),the only one I'll miss is James Woods (I think he's funny)....If Jillian's single now, this could end up bringing her and Brian back together...

My favorite line of the episode was Stewie's last line...it seems that he still wants Lois dead (but only if he gets to do it)...

Also liked...

Consuela calling everyone "Mister",whether they were male or female
Dr. Hartman admitting he's bad at checking for a pulse
Peter thinking Derek was actually holding up the Hollywood sign in his cellphone picture
Peter's "Inspector Gadget" outfit...
Stewie's obsession with people staring at his outfit

I thought him using quotation marks was a subtle way to make fun of those people that are concerned over shows like Family Guy having a form of continuity and/or canon? Even though this episode did feel like a 60's mystery movie, no one was playing a character, they were all themselves, so therefore I consider this to be somewhat canon to the series proper.

Stewie is back to his old ways. o_O

Nice. =)

That was a crazy episode. Especially if it is to be considered canon.

And I still don't understand why Tom acted like he was the one.

You really think she's going to tell anyone about that?

Seriously though, that whole ending could've been a way to show that Peter is not such an idiot. I was hoping that it would be Peter who would save Lois. That would've been as good a Crowning Moment Of Awesome as Stewie been shown to be back to his old ways.

I loved that moment too I always wonder what Quagmire was going to say to brian before everyone else argued at each other "You know Brian, you have an ego the size of the moon you smug loser" (my guess on what he said:p)

Also how Brian suggested to try Quagmire's room first:p:evil:

Lot's hope they keep up this continuity going this season :D

I had another watch of that scene Quagmire says to Brian "You know what Brian, you disgust me period" :D

I liked the animation in this episode. It looked like a theatrical movie.:D
I'll have to agree with some of the posters that having no 'Tom and Diane' doing the news will be weird. Unless like Lois, Diane gets saved by a merman, gets amnesia, gets a job at a camp, meets a supremacist group, and regains her memories. However, I don't think that'll happen this time.
As soon as I saw the muzzle of the rifle, I thought Stewie killed Diane.

This was basically their "Who Shot Mr. Burns?" special. And it did work. It got pretty eerie at times, and the comedy came in just the right spurts, and the mystery was intriguing actually.
